  • Publication number: 20200092121
Abstract: A gateway device (3, 4) and a configuration client (2) for supporting selective forwarding of messages published to a group address or a virtual address in a network (16, 17) of communicatively coupled communication devices (15), such as a Bluetooth Mesh system (1). The configuration client (2) maintains a mapping between unicast addresses of communication devices (15) and group and virtual addresses in the network (16, 17). At receipt of a message comprising a group or virtual address, the gateway device (3, 4) retrieves, from the configuration client (2), the unicast addresses of those communication devices (15) collectively identified by the group or virtual address in the received message. If the retrieved unicast addresses are all serviced by the gateway device (3, 4), the message is transmitted by the gateway device (3, 4) on all interfaces corresponding to the communication devices (15) addressed by the retrieved unicast addresses.

  • Publication number: 20190014528
Abstract: A method in a node of a mesh network comprises receiving a plurality of neighbor count values, each neighbor count value relating to the number of neighbors associated with a particular neighbor of the node, and controlling the transmission of a beacon message based on the received neighbor count values. The method in a node of a mesh network may comprise determining a neighbor count value, the neighbor count value comprising the number of neighbor nodes associated with the node, and distributing the neighbor count value to the neighbor nodes of the node.

  • Patent number: 10051502
Abstract: Provided are methods for handling reports on lost connections in a terminal device which is capable of being in communication connection with a plurality of network access nodes, wherein the terminal device generates, after having lost connection to a first network access node, a report on the loss of connection. The terminal device stores the report when the terminal device is reconnected to a third network access node comprising one of a different access technology, a different network, and a different network operator than the first network access node to which the terminal device was connected before the loss of connection. The terminal device also sends, upon or after reconnecting with one of the first and a second network access node, sending the report to one of the first and second network access nodes.

  • Patent number: 9894543
Abstract: A method and network node (400) for supporting evaluation of usage of a radio network feature in radio communication between wireless devices (402) and the network node. The network node (400) retrieves (4:1) statistical information regarding the usage of the radio network feature, and reports (4:5) the statistical information to an Operation and Maintenance, O&M, node (404). The O&M node then uses (4:6) the statistical information for evaluating how measured performance (4:3) of the radio network is related to the usage of the radio network feature.

  • Publication number: 20180041861
Abstract: An advertising wireless device (110) broadcasts (202; 802) an advertising message over a wireless communication link (115). The advertising wireless device receives (203a; 803), from an advertisement responding device (120-1), a request message that was sent by the advertisement responding device (120-1) at a certain point in time in response to the broadcasted advertising message. Said certain point in time being randomized within a listening time period during which the advertising wireless device (110) listens for a response to the broadcasted advertising message and is able to receive the request message.

  • Publication number: 20160380778
Abstract: A master device 103 and a method for transmitting a message towards a destination node. The master and the destination are operating in a network 100. The master has a Slave Neighbour Table (SNT) and a Master Neighbour Table (MNT). When the identity of the destination is comprised in the SNT, the master unicasts the message to the slave having the same identity as the destination, otherwise the master determines if the identity of the destination is in the MNT. If so, the master unicasts the message to the neighbour master having the same identity as the destination or to the neighbour master being the master of the neighbour slave having the same identity as the destination; otherwise the master multicasts the message to all neighbour masters comprised in the MNT. When the identity is neither comprised in the SNT nor in the MNT, the master broadcasts the message.

  • Patent number: 9503232
Abstract: A cellular radio communications network includes base stations that provide radio communication service to user equipments (UEs) in respective cell service areas. A node receives or determines a usage fraction or percentage of protected subframes and converts the fraction or percentage of protected subframes into one or more protected subframe patterns for an aggressor base station to not transmit on or to transmit at reduced power, in one example, an operations and maintenance (OaM) node configures one or more interfered base stations to use the one or more protected subframe patterns, in another example, the node is a base station.

  • Publication number: 20150207700
Abstract: A method and network node (400) for supporting evaluation of performance of a radio network. The network node employs carrier aggregation with multiple carriers used in corresponding multiple cells (Cell 1, Cell2, Cell 3). The network node retrieves (4:1) statistical information regarding utilization of radio resources, wherein the statistical information indicates secondary cell use of radio resources in a particular cell. The network node reports (4:5) the statistical information to an Operation and Maintenance, O&M, node (404), thereby enabling the O&M node to use the statistical information for evaluating (4:6) how a measured performance of the radio network is related to secondary cell usage.

  • Patent number: 8798629
Abstract: A method in a radio network node for identifying a candidate cell for handover of a user equipment is provided. The radio network node receives, from the user equipment, a first cell identifier associated with the candidate cell. The radio network node signals a cell identification request to at least one base station serving a cell using the first cell identifier. The cell identification request comprises a user equipment identifier associated with the user equipment (102), and requests any cell wherein the user equipment associated with the user equipment identifier can be detected. The radio network node receives a cell identification response comprising a second cell identifier associated with a detecting cell, served by a detecting base station, wherein the user equipment associated with the user equipment identifier is detected. The radio network node then identifies the candidate cell based on the received second cell identifier.
