    Abstract: Methods and apparatuses provide a mechanism to account for timing errors of a wireless device (12) in positioning measurements. In one example, a wireless device (12) performs reference-signal transmissions or measurements and sends information to a network node (20) that is involved in positioning of the wireless device (12). The information indicates associations of the reference-signal transmissions or measurements with respective timing groups of the wireless device (12). Each timing group represents a related set of transmission or reception timing errors within the wireless device (12). Based on the information, the network node (20) accounts for the different timing-group associations when performing positioning calculations that are based on the reference-signal transmissions or measurements performed by the wireless device (12).

    Abstract: Radio equipment (10) is configured for tap separated channel estimation in a wireless communication system. The radio equipment (10) obtains a channel estimate (16) of a radio channel over which a reference signal (12) is received, and separates the channel estimate (16) into channel estimate components (20) that correspond to respective channel taps (22). The radio equipment (10) then compensates the channel estimate components (20) for Doppler shifts respectively associated with the channel taps (22) to which the channel estimate components (20) correspond. The radio equipment (10) processes the compensated channel estimate components (32) separately. Such processing comprises filtering, interpolating, and/or extrapolating. The radio equipment (10) then de-compensates the processed channel estimate components (34) for the respective Doppler shifts, and forms a combined channel estimate (42) of the radio channel by combining the de-compensated channel estimate components (38).

A round trip time (RTT) measurement procedure is performed with a serving cell base station to obtain a RTT measurement. A received time is measured of a DL PRS from one or more neighbor base stations. The position is estimated using the assistance data, the RTT measurement and the DL PRS received time. A method and a network node to provide the assistance data is also provided. Information indicative of a distance to each of one or more neighbor base stations of a serving cell base station of the UE and location information of the base stations is obtained. Assistance data is provided to the UE, including the information indicative of the distance and the location information.
