  • Publication number: 20070265189
Abstract: Peptide sequences capable of binding to insulin and/or insulin-like growth factor receptors with either agonist or antagonist activity and identified from various peptide libraries are disclosed. This invention also identifies at least two different binding sites, which are present on insulin and insulin-like growth factor receptors, and which selectively bind the peptides of this invention. As agonists, certain of the peptides of this invention may be useful for development as therapeutics to supplement or replace endogenous peptide hormones. The antagonists may also be developed as therapeutics.

  • Publication number: 20070184847
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a system for safe pairing of wireless communication medical devices in a situation when multiple servers are within the reach of a client by determining and indicating the number of wireless medical devices responding to a node query broadcast and accordingly establishing a connection with the appropriate medical device.

  • Publication number: 20070186130
Abstract: The present invention relates to a reduced size format for transmission packet header wherein a source address is encoded together with a check code in a medical device. The packet header thus contains one single field now in place of two i.e. the check code and source address. At the receiving end, the receiver looks up the sender address from the session descriptor table, calculates the check code and then performs the same encoding with the address and the check code, thus authenticating and validating the packet.

  • Publication number: 20070061674
Abstract: The invention relates to a packet format for data being transmitted in a packet switched network. The packet as constructed in accordance with the invention enables the detection of data tampering and alteration of the data payload part as well as header part. The invention uses check code and encryption for constructing a secure packet but does not encrypt the header part of the transmission data packet.

  • Publication number: 20060182860
Abstract: The present invention concerns an apparatus and a method for producing ice confection comprising mould cavities arranged on lamellae disposed in an endless belt along which are arranged process means for the production of the ice confection by conveying the lamellae between the process means, wherein the apparatus comprises an uneven number of lamellae and the process means are arranged along the belt in such a way, that the ice confection production process may be completed by two full circulations of one lamella on the belt. Due to the uneven number of lamellae a specific lamella will change stop position for each circulation. Hereby, a number of advantages are obtained through an optimal utilization of the lower lamella sequence, such that the shortest possible apparatus is obtained.

  • Publication number: 20050096853
Abstract: The invention relates to measuring instruments, preferably of the kind measuring absorbances, in an object, of electromagnetic radiation in at least two spectral ranges, such as IR instruments, and DXR, meaning Dual X-ray instruments, and more specifically to the determination of properties of food or feed, such as the fat content in milk or meat. The invention relates in particular to a method of providing a correction for a slave instrument of the kind measuring properties of an object by exposing the object to electromagnetic radiation, in particular X-rays, in at least two spectral ranges and obtaining one or more object responses thereto. The responses obtained being preferably based on detecting attenuation and/or reflection and/or scatter of the electromagnetic radiation in/from the object by use of one or more detectors and are obtained in a form where they express properties of the object either directly or via a transformation.
