  • Patent number: 10035387
Abstract: A module is operable to monitor at least a pressure within a tire of a wheel, the module being operatively mounted to said wheel, the module including (a) a pressure sensor for measuring the pressure (P) and generating a corresponding pressure signal; and b1) an associated data memory including a data field containing data relevant to the functional status of the tire.

  • Patent number: 8744692
Abstract: A method for identifying locations of one or more modules of an apparatus implemented in a vehicle for monitoring operation of at least one wheel of the vehicle includes steps of (a) communicating with one or more modules of the apparatus for receiving their identification codes at a processing arrangement of the apparatus, the one or more modules being mounted on at least one wheel of the vehicle; (b) driving the vehicle around a curved trajectory as sensed by the steering sensing arrangement and recording a direction of steering of the vehicle together with a temporal record of the physical parameter measured by the one or more modules together with their corresponding identification codes, the physical parameter pertaining to one or more tires of the at least one wheel; and (c) applying an analysis to the steering direction and the temporal record in respect of time to identify where the one or more modules are located on the at least one wheel of the vehicle, the analysis utilizing a characteristic that t

  • Patent number: 8483908
Abstract: There is provided a method of identifying locations of modules (400) of an apparatus (600, 680, 690, 2200) for monitoring wheels (10) of a vehicle (900). The sensor modules (400) operatively revolving with the wheels (10). The modules (400) communicate with a processing arrangement (710, ECU 950) of the vehicle (900). The modules (400) sense a physical parameter of the wheels (10) and generate corresponding sensor signals for the processing arrangement (950). The processing arrangement (710, ECU 950) processes the sensor signals to compute information indicative of operation of the wheels (10). The apparatus (1) also includes a sensor arrangement (118) for sensing an angular orientation (0) of the wheels (10).

  • Publication number: 20110029212
Abstract: A method of identifying positions of brake monitors in relation to wheel brake units of a vehicle is provided. The brake monitors communicate by wireless to a control apparatus of the vehicle. The method includes steps of: (a) installing the brake monitors in association with the brake units; (b) individually or group-wise actuating the brake units in a sequence whilst monitoring corresponding brake unit actuations by using the brake monitors and generating corresponding brake unit actuation signals; (c) communicating the brake unit actuation signals from the brake monitors to the control apparatus; and (d) receiving the brake unit actuation signals at the control apparatus, and identifying from the received brake unit actuation signals positions whereat the brake monitors are installed on the vehicle.
