Patent number: 8520622Abstract: A network node is disclosed that communicates with a user equipment node in a communications system. The network node repetitively transmits first uplink transmission power control, TPC, commands on a first physical channel with a first channel configuration while repetitively transmitting second uplink TPC commands on a second physical channel with a second channel configuration. The first and second uplink TPC commands control uplink transmission power from the user equipment node to the network node. Related user equipment nodes and methods are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: July 6, 2011Date of Patent: August 27, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Goran Kronquist, Anders Astrom, Per Lofving

Publication number: 20010012765Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for controlling the total transmitted power in a mobile telephony system with a multiplicity of carrier waves, a multi-carrier system, in which system each carrier wave included has a defined output power at certain known points in time. The invention is characterized in that it comprises measuring the mean power (Pm) of the combined transmitted signal of the carrier waves in the system at points in time when the respective output power of the carrier waves is defined, calculating the desired mean power of the combined transmitted signal of the carrier waves in the system, and controlling the power of the combined transmitted signal to a desired mean power.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2001Publication date: August 9, 2001Inventors: Jonas Noreus, Mats Hogberg, Per Lofving

Patent number: 6148217Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for quickly and easily adjusting the gain of an antenna system. According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the output power of the base station's antenna system is adjusted during the base station's installation process. In the adjustment procedure, the output power of the base station is set to a predetermined value. When a switch is closed, the output power of the base station's associated active antenna system is measured and compared to a stored reference value. If the comparison indicates that the measured output power is above or below the stored reference value, the attenuation of the antenna system is automatically changed in order to properly adjust the gain of the antenna system. The present invention facilitates base station installation by providing a fast and easy gain adjustment method which requires no intervention from the base station or telephone network.Type: GrantFiled: August 19, 1998Date of Patent: November 14, 2000Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM EricssonInventors: Ulf Skarby, Kristian Lindskog, Per Lofving
