Abstract: A socket for use in preparing a dental prosthesis and in attaching the prosthesis to pillars attached to the patient's jawbone has a thin-walled tubular extension portion that is long enough to extend entirely through an impression material for the first mold used in preparing the prosthesis and/or through the bridge element of the prosthesis. One or more grooves on the socket enhance retention of the first mold and the bridge element.

Abstract: A device for fixing a dental prosthesis is described, which device as parts thereof comprises a spacing element (1) for anchoring into the jaw-bone of a patient and a socket (7) for fixing into a prosthetic part, whereby the socket will rest on the spacing element via an outer conical supporting surface (5) provided on one of said parts, which supporting surface will bear against an inner conical supporting surface (6) provided in the other of said parts.

Abstract: A dental bridge assembly comprises a bridge component cast from a gold alloy having a melting point not greater than 1050.degree. C. and a plurality of sockets of titanium or a titanium alloy cast in place in the bridge component, secured mechanically to the bridge component and adapted to be fastened to anchor elements attached to the jawbone of a patient.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a means for preparation of a dental bridge for a dental prosthesis. The dental bridge is modelled by casting in a mould prepared from a casting model. The casting model is built up in the mouth of the patient by modules (3,6) which are joined together into a unit. A module consists of a metal socket (3) on which a cap (6) with a through hole is mounted. The modules are connected to each other preferably by gluing.

Abstract: Implant intended to facilitate attachment of dental prostheses against a jaw-bone (2), including an externally threaded screw-shaped member (1), intended to be attached against a threaded hole taken up in the jaw-bone (2). In difference to previously known types of implants, the screw-shaped member (1) includes a blind hole directed from the jaw-bone (2), the first portion of which is a conically tapering portion (4), which is transformed into an internally threaded hole (3). Since the conical portion (4) adjacent to the end surface of the screw-shaped member (1) preferably is arranged with a diameter smaller than the outside diameter of the end portion, and since a cover screw with a conical head which is substantially enclosed by the conical portion (4) is utilized during the osseointegration process, the jaw-bone (2) can be permitted to enclose and encapsulate this end portion of the screw-shaped member (1) during the osseointegration process.
