  • Publication number: 20230282331
Abstract: Virtual reality (VR) systems and methods for treating eating disorders or training a patient to have beneficial eating habits. Systems includes a virtual reality interface displayed to a patient and a computing system coupled to the virtual reality interface. The computing system executes instructions to evaluate a patient eating disorder based upon patient input and to construct and display a therapeutic VR environment, where the patient can be treated for the eating disorder and trained to have beneficial eating habits.

  • Publication number: 20220223259
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing medical or medical-related diagnosis and treatment, and, more particularly, for implementing risk assessment for suicide and treatment based on interaction with virtual clinician, food intake tracking, and/or satiety determination. In various embodiments, a computing system might generate a virtual clinician capable of simulating facial expressions and body expressions, and might cause, using a display device and/or an audio output device, the generated virtual clinician to interact with a patient. The computing system might analyze the interactions between the virtual clinician and the patient (and in some cases, food intake data) to determine likelihood of risk of suicide by the patient, and, based on a determination that a likelihood of risk of suicide by the patient exceeds a first predetermined threshold value, might send an alert message to one or more healthcare professionals regarding the likelihood of risk of suicide by the patient.

  • Publication number: 20210151188
Abstract: Novel tools and techniques are provided for implementing eating disorder diagnosis based on analysis of patient responses to a set of questions having closed-ended answer options. In various embodiments, a computing system might autonomously determine a diagnosis of whether the first patient has an eating disorder, based on logistic regression analysis of a first set of patient responses to the set of questions. If so, the computing system might autonomously identify a first set of weighted values and a second set of weighted values each corresponding to each of the received first set of patient responses from the first patient; might autonomously calculate a first probability of diagnosis of a first eating disorder and a second probability of diagnosis of a second eating disorder; might autonomously identify which eating disorder the first patient is likely to have; and might display the identified eating disorder.

  • Publication number: 20160061648
Abstract: The miniaturized pocket sized foldable scale is of a thin material/substrate, and a utilization of the same. The scale has an embedded/plugged in electronic circuit with WI-FI capability, and tactile sensors, which change of conductance when put under pressure/load is a linear function converted into weight.

  • Publication number: 20120183934
Abstract: The invention regards a medical apparatus made up of at least two devices (30, 32) adapted to measure eating rate utilized to teach persons to eat according to a predetermined graphic eating curve (10, 24) displayed on a screen, and a method therefore. There are means in a memory automatically calculating equations for predetermined eating curves (10, 24) based on data obtained from a cumulative food intake in a control meal through an introductory curve followed by training curves. The cumulative food intake is fitted to a quadratic equation y=ax2+bx+c, where the parameter y represents food intake, and represents a change in the slope of the curve over time x, b represents a constant slope of the curve over time, the initial rate of eating, and c represents food intake at the start of a meal, whereby the introductory curve has the same properties as the cumulative food intake obtained in a control meal.

  • Patent number: 6932766
Abstract: The invention relates to a computerized handheld substantially pocket size device (10) for satiety registering and satiety response and a method therefore. It is utilized in aiding a person, in a controlled manner, to appreciate when to eat, comprising in-/output means (12, 16), electronic memory, a display screen (14) and a modified Borg type scale (18) for rating of satiety.

  • Patent number: 6485419
Abstract: The invention relates to a system and a method for controlling physical activity while dieting. A computer (14) with a screen (20) and a connected scale (24) providing a plate (26) used for intake of food by a user (28) is used to determine a best level of dieting for the user (28). The dieting level is correlated with a level for warming or cooling the body of a user. This provides that additional physical activity for a certain level of dieting is prevented and raised, respectively, in order to achieve a best possible and healthy diet mode.
