  • Publication number: 20240163471
Abstract: A decoder can be configured to obtain a current inter block and a plurality of previously decoded inter blocks. Each inter block of the plurality of inter blocks can include a motion vector having a resolution. The decoder generates a list of motion vector predictor candidates that is used to predict the motion vector that is associated with the current inter block. Generating the list of motion vector predictor candidates can include defining a set of inter blocks that includes a number of previously decoded inter blocks; scanning the inter blocks in the set of inter blocks in a scanning order; and for each of the inter blocks in the set of inter blocks: deriving a motion vector prediction candidate using the motion vector of the inter block; and determining whether a criterion is satisfied.

  • Patent number: 11973952
Abstract: A prediction unit (60) for an encoder (24) or decoder (44) implements matrix based intra prediction Input boundary samples for a current block are downsampled to obtain reduced boundary samples for matrix multiplication and/or linear interpolation, or both. In one embodiment, downsampling is performed in a manner that aligns the reduced boundary samples with an output of a matrix multiplication unit of the prediction unit. In other embodiments, downsampling is performed without averaging. The embodiments reduce the complexity of the prediction unit and the latency of the encoder (24) or decoder (44).

  • Publication number: 20240098256
Abstract: An encoded video sequence including a plurality of images may be decoded. First and second adjacent blocks of an image of an encoded video sequence may be provided. A line of pixels including pixels of the first and second blocks may be defined extending across a boundary between the first and second blocks. A first reference value may be calculated based on a first pixel of the pixels from the first block. A second reference value may be calculated based on a second pixel of the pixels from the second block. Filtered pixel values for each pixel of the line of pixels between the first pixel and the second pixel may be calculated using interpolation based on the first and/or second reference values. Filtered blocks may be generated using the filtered pixel values, and a decoded video sequence may be generated based on the filtered blocks.

  • Publication number: 20040154711
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of gas-releasing pyrotechnical compositions that are intended primarily for use in gas-actuated car safety devices such as air-bag assemblies, safety-belt tighteners, inflatable neck supports, etc. and which can be recovered if they are not actively used. The invention also relates to these compositions themselves. The invention is mainly characterized by the use of guanidine dinitramide, possibly combined with guanyl urea dinitramide, as gas-generating substance(s) in products of the said type.

  • Patent number: 5695216
Abstract: An airbag device including a gas-emitting substance chamber having an opening. A gas-emitting substance is provided in the gas-emitting substance chamber including between about seventy-six to about eighty percent by weight of a high energy explosive and about twelve to about fifteen percent by weight of a combustible binder. An igniter provided within the gas-emitting substance chamber ignites the gas-emitting substance. A pressure reducing valve arranged in the opening of the gas-emitting substance chamber maintains a desired pressure in the gas-emitting substance chamber during burning of the gas-emitting substance. A gas container having an opening contains a gas for oxidizing gas produced by burning of the gas-emitting substance. A closure closes the opening in the gas container. A mixing chamber is joined to the gas-emitting substance chamber and the gas container in the vicinity of the opening of the gas-emitting substance chamber and in the vicinity of the opening of the gas container.

  • Patent number: 5062343
Abstract: The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for filling a space in at least one ammunition unit with a ready-mixed explosive containing a substance which imparts high viscosity to the explosive. The method comprises supplying the explosive into a flexible container with a single opening therein, positioning the flexible container into a second container adapted to withstand high internal pressure, applying a high pressure into the second container thereby exposing the flexible container to the high pressure, and pressing out the explosive from the flexible container through the opening in the flexible containers into the space in the ammunition unit upon application of the high pressure whereby filling the space with the explosive.

  • Patent number: 4718346
Abstract: The disclosure relates to an explosive charge intended for the explosive jointing of, primarily, large-diameter pipes, such as pipeline pipes. The charge according to the invention is intended to be delivered as a unit ready to be applied immediately on site in the pipe. The only item which is not intended to be included is the detonator which is mounted in place immediately prior to blowing the charge. The charge includes, apart from explosive, also a polymer binder of a more closely defined type and gas blisters preferably in the form of microspheres of glass or plastic and metal or metal oxide powder. The scope of the invention embraces the general configuration of the charge and all components included therein.

  • Patent number: 4706567
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for producing charges for explosive jointing of large-diameter pipes such as pipelines. According to the invention, such charges are formed in that a strip-shaped flat explosive is wound and joined together to form a circular ring of even thickness consisting of a plurality of closely abutting layers.

  • Patent number: 4652481
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dealing with small areas such as defects in a web of material provide that pre-prepared marking plates with metal inserts are associated with each of the areas to be dealt with, the marking plates being joined to the web of material in such a way that the metal insert covers the area to identify same. The metal insert can be subsequently detected to permit the marked location to be removed from the web or otherwise processed.
