  • Publication number: 20240084471
Abstract: Optimizing device for the electrodeposition of metals which covers the entire range of electrodeposition of metals from the lowest current densities to the highest, which has multiple openings on its entire surface which maximize the free passage of the electrolyte flow without altering the electrodeposition processes and straightening the electrodes causing an equidistribution of current in the electrodes installed in the cells which leads to the production of cathodes with high quality uniform deposits avoiding the loss of current due to short circuits that occur between anodes and cathodes, thereby increasing the current efficiency of the system. The device comprises a single body with a firm skeletal structure formed by different body sections, at least one body section comprising inclined side walls.

  • Publication number: 20230284398
Abstract: During the electrodeposition and electrorefining processes of metals, the electrodes undergo severe corrosion effects. A protective device and included system are proposed, wherein the electrode protective device solves the problem, given that its design and material preferably fireproof and anticorrosive, protect the electrodes. The design encompasses the entire exterior shape of the electrode support bar including the straight parts of the electrode plate that arise from the area of the support bars on both sides.

  • Patent number: 11352706
Abstract: An electrolyte flow regulator device and system that eliminates electrode edge strips, preferably cathodes edge strips, by obstructing the passage of the rich electrolyte to be electrodeposited and by the electrical isolation caused by the side walls of the device in the area where the edge strip was originally arranged, being able to obtain edges of an electrode without electrodeposition.

  • Publication number: 20190078223
Abstract: An anode stiffening device that avoids the occurrence of short-circuits produced between anodes and cathodes during electrodepositing processes, wherein said device comprises a rigid monolithic body of side inclined walls configuring a triangular-shaped cross-section that is wider in its rear portion, where said side inclined walls join in the front portion of the device, forming a fit area arranged to receive the peripheral edge of an electrode tightly, preferably of an anode and making it stiff in its whole extension and separating it from the adjacent electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20080302654
Abstract: The invention relates generally to a desludging system for electrolytic cells for metal production in the hydrometallurgical industry. Specifically, it relates to a system for desludging cells, preferably for copper cathodes, which comprises removable collectors for lead sludge accumulated at the bottom of cells. Collectors are located at the bottom of the cell and lead sludge is transported towards trays which are later removed from the cell with the sludge thereon without having to stop the cathode production.
