Abstract: The present invention relates to a moulded plastic article provided with a vibration damping member, said member being formed from a vibration damping laminate comprised of a constrained viscoelastic layer (50) sandwiched between two rigid constraining metallic layers (40), which member is moulded into the article when moulding the article. The invention also relates to a method of preparing such plastic article by means of moulding.

Abstract: A vibration damping material (10) comprising a laminate consisting of two (20,40) metal sheets with a rubber layer (30) sandwiched therebetween, and another rubber layer (50) attached to either of the metal sheets, the rubber layers being made of solid rubber foil or rubber film produced by carrier calendaring and vulcanised to the metal sheets. One of the metal sheet properties influenceable by sound, vibration, and/or temperature, is different between the metal sheets. A vibration damper for application to a panel, which vibration damper is made from the vibration damping material.

Abstract: A vehicle brake vibration-and-noise damping insert is comprised of two thin plates and an intermediate damping layer. The damping layer is vulcanized to the two metal plates. A method of producing a material web for the manufacture of this type of insert is also provided. A first sheet-metal strip is coated on one side thereof with a rubber layer, while one side of a second sheet-metal strip is coated with an adhesive. The two metal strips are passed through a band vulcanizing machine with the coated sides of the strips facing one another, so as to vulcanize the rubber layer to the two metal strips.

Abstract: A gasket for use in an aggressive environment, e.g. as a vibration; and noise; damping spacer in vehicle brakes, has a body made of fiber cloth, at least one side of which is coated with a rubber layer penetrating into the cloth. The gasket is made by applying a rubber solution to at least one side of a body, the rubber solution thereafter being dried and vulcanised, so as to result in a thin inner rubber layer. A rubber sheet is applied to the inner layer by calendering, whereupon the applied rubber sheet is vulcanised to the inner layer.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method in the production of rotatable tools, such as saw blades or similar, comprising at least two preferably metallic discs interconnected by means of glue, solder or any other binding means or adhesive wherein spacing members of a uniform overall thickness are disposed between the discs to position the discs parallel to each other and to ensure a uniform layer thickness of the binding means. Said invention also relates to a means to perform the method and to the product achieved by the method.
