    Abstract: A novel multiple description coding (MDC) technique is presented whereby different side descriptions are generated with different transforms. In each of the different side descriptions, the input signal is represented by discrete values in the transform domain corresponding to the transform used in generating that description. Data fusion is then used to estimate the central description from the side descriptions.
