  • Patent number: 11209061
Abstract: A brake piston for a disc brake assembly has a body portion and an end face of the body portion. An annularly extending first portion of the end face has a first radius and an annularly extending second portion of the end face has a second radius that is less than the first radius. A plurality of first ribs extend radially inward from the first portion to the second portion and a plurality of second ribs extends radially outward from the second portion to the first portion. The first and second ribs are interspaced. The second portion and the second ribs are recessed into the end face relative to the first portion and the first ribs.

  • Patent number: 10973528
Abstract: A modular wound treatment system includes a central modular hub having a modular connection for one or more pneumatically-actuated, modular components, such as a pneumatically-actuated soft robotic gripper component configured to curve and at least partially encircle the wound when actuated and thereby apply direct pressure to the wound, and a pneumatically-actuated tourniquet component configured to apply pressure proximal to the wound to limit the flow of arterial blood to the wound. The system also includes a pressurized gas supply in pneumatic communication with the modular connection, sensors for measuring the amount of pressure being applied by the pneumatically-actuated, modular components, a display for providing system information, and a controller for controlling the system. Methods of treating a wounded subject using the system are also provided.

  • Patent number: 6719104
Abstract: The invention relates to a composite brake caliper and method for producing the same. The method for producing the composite brake caliper comprises the steps of: (a) providing a molding apparatus having at least a pair of mold sections, at least one of the pair of mold sections including at least one projection extending from a surface thereof; (b) providing at least one reinforced preform formed from at least a first material, the preform having at least one opening formed at least partially therein; (d) positioning the preform in the molding apparatus with the projection of the mold section extending into the opening of the preform so as to orient the preform in a predetermined position within the molding apparatus; and (e) casting a caliper body formed from a second material in situ therewith to produce the composite brake caliper.
