  • Patent number: 9578927
Abstract: A system assesses activity and displays a unitless activity value. A detector senses activity of a user. A processor reads sensed activity data from the detector. A display displays the unitless activity value. An enclosure houses the detector and the processor. The processor periodically reads the sensed activity data from the detector and processes the data to generate an activity number, the number being used to generate the unitless activity value based upon a maximum number and a display range.

  • Publication number: 20160195566
Abstract: A product integrity tracking shipping label includes a label body for attaching to a product to be shipped or to packaging containing the product. One or more movement monitoring configured with the label body detects a movement metric of the product. A microprocessor configured with the label body and in communication with the one or more movement monitoring devices time-tags the movement metric when the movement metric exceeds a pre-selected threshold. A product integrity tracking system includes a movement monitoring device with one or more sensors for attachment to a product or packaging containing the product. The movement monitoring device senses at least one movement event during handling of the product. A processor compares the movement event with a pre-selected event threshold, and time-tags and stores above-threshold movement events in a memory. Information in the memory is readable via an interrogation device during shipment or at product delivery.

  • Publication number: 20140265480
Abstract: Systems for soothing and prolonging sleep maintain an experience of riding in a vehicle in a car seat, even as a pattern of driving changes, when vehicle motion ceases or when the car seat is removed from the vehicle. Sensors detect one or more of motion, light and sound in an environment of the car seat. As motion, light and/or associated with the ride decrease, change or stop, a controller automatically controls actuators to apply compensatory motion, light and/or sound in the environment of the car seat, in order to provide continuity of the riding experience and decrease likelihood of an infant awakening or fussing. This allows the driver of the vehicle to concentrate on driving safely, rather than breaking concentration on the road in order to soothe the infant.

  • Publication number: 20140058546
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for detecting and measuring performance characteristics and metrics of participants and vehicles. These performance characteristics and metrics include, but not are limited to, airtime, g-force, spin, rotation, drop distance, acceleration, and video and still images. These vehicles include, but are not limited to a snowboard, ski, skateboard, wakeboard, motorcycle, bicycle, ice skates and rollerblades. In one implementation, a camera provides near real-time images and video footage of a participant's actions on a vehicle which can be correlated with performance metrics. The camera may be located on the participant, the participant's vehicle or other equipment, or from some other observation point. The images recorded by the camera can be downloaded to a recording or other storage device to produce memorabilia (e.g., a CD ROM, or video cassette). If desired, the images can be sent in real-time through an event system and network (e.g.

  • Publication number: 20130288744
Abstract: A mobile device has a datalog module that captures multimedia data at the mobile device and transmits the multimedia data through cell networks to a control center. The mobile device may also include a GPS sensor wherein location information is included within the multimedia data. A mobile device has a motion module that, when activated at the mobile device or through a cell network, disables communications through the mobile device when in motion. A system disables operation of a mobile device by a vehicle operator and includes a transmitter within the vehicle that generates a disabling signal that, when received by a safety receiver within the mobile device, disables operation of the mobile device. A mobile device has a microphone, and a voice augmentation module which is selectively activated to augment voice data spoken into the mobile device, by removing background noise and/or replacing or changing voice data.
