  • Publication number: 20160206771
Abstract: Anti-microbial wound dressing and method of producing the same. The wound dressing comprises a non-woven fabric produced by hydroentanglement of a blend of fibres, said blend being formed by first fibres which are coated with elemental silver or contain silver and second fibres which are essentially free from silver. The wound dressing will retain its antimicrobial properties over extended periods of time, and it is suitable for sustained release of silver.

  • Patent number: 8778134
Abstract: A process for treating cellulosic fibers comprises mechanically pre-treating the fibers followed by treating the fibers with an enzyme and thereafter mixing the fibers with a solution comprising an alkali metal hydroxide followed by mechanically treating the fibers to form microfibrillated cellulose. In this way it is possible to produce microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) in an improved and energy efficient way.

  • Patent number: 8647468
Abstract: A process for treating cellulosic fibers comprising pre-treating the fibers with an enzyme in a first enzymatic treatment followed by mechanical pre-treating the fibers in a first mechanical treatment and a second enzymatic treatment followed by a second mechanical treatment of the fibers to form micofibrillated cellulose. In this way it is possible to produce mircofibrillated cellulose (MFC) in an improved and energy efficient way.

  • Patent number: 8492125
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for dissolving cellulose. The method comprises—introducing cellulosic raw material,—treating the cellulosic raw material in an enzymatic treatment process,—mixing the cellulosic raw material after the enzymatic treatment in an aqueous solution in order to obtain an aqueous intermediate product containing the cellulosic raw material of at least 3.5 wt.-%, alkali metal hydroxide between 3.5 wt.-% and 7 wt.-% and zinc salt,—freezing the intermediate product to a solid state, and—melting the frozen intermediate product. The present invention also relates to a cellulosic product obtained from a solution comprising dissolved cellulose.

  • Patent number: 6738265
Abstract: A fiber mesh net is insert molded into an interior cavity of a cover structure of a portable electronic device such as a cellular or radio telephone to provide EMI shielding. The fiber mesh net is also bonded to one surface of a polymer sheet which additionally carries electronic circuitry on its opposite side to form a laminate which is inserted molded into a cover structure to extend electrical circuitry functionality via selected fibers of the fiber mesh net for access from the electronic device cover.

  • Patent number: 5622666
Abstract: Modified viscose fibres comprise regenerated cellulose and contain in their structure microcrystalline chitosan bound mainly by hydrogen bonds with the regenerated cellulose of viscose fibres. To improve the properties of the fibres the modified fibres contain as a third component a water-soluble and/or alkali-soluble natural polymer or a derivative thereof of polysaccharide origin containing groups bound by hydrogen and/or ionic bonds with the microcrystalline chitosan. Examples of such polymers are alginic acid, sodium and potassium alginate and sodium carboxymethycellulose.
