More specifically, this invention relates to synthetic bioabsorbable drug delivery materials and implants comprising: (a) a synthetic bioabsorbable polymeric matrix; (b) an antibiotic phase dispersed into said polymeric matrix; and (c) antibacterial, bioabsorbable, bioactive glass, dispersed into said polymeric matrix for the promotion of bone growth.
