  • Patent number: 8103213
Abstract: A system for configuring communication resources that are at least partially based upon reconfigurable software modules. An apparatus may utilize a plurality of transports for communication, wherein the transports are supported by one or more radio modules. The one or more radio modules may comprise hardware-based radio modules and software-defined radio (SDR) modules including a reconfigurable software element that allows the radio module to emulate the functionality of multiple hardware-based radios. In accordance with at least one embodiment of the present invention, SDR modules in an apparatus may formulate a communication configuration for use in communicating with another apparatus based on remote characteristic information (e.g., information corresponding to the apparatus with which communication is desired) and local characteristic information pertaining to the apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100129046
Abstract: A system for receiving information for recording may receive sensor information in an apparatus, and control data may be determined based on the sensor information. One or more instances of control data may be integrated with the corresponding instance of recorded information, and the integrated information may be stored. The system may further comprise activating an integrated information playback process in an apparatus, the integrated information comprising recorded information and control data. One or more instances of the control data may be processed, and the recorded information may be played back in a particular playback mode. The particular playback mode at one or more instances of the recorded information may be determined in accordance with the processed control data occurring at the same instance.

  • Publication number: 20080260134
Abstract: A method for outputting audio data during a communication is provided. The method involves initiating an at least bilateral communications state, such as a bilateral audio communications state, between a first communications device and a second communications device. A pre-defined audio composition, such as a song, is caused to emanate at least temporarily during the bilateral communications state and substantially contemporaneously from each of the first and second communications devices. Corresponding apparatus and computer program products are also provided according to other aspects.
