Then, one or more parameters, to be used by at least one of the plurality of networks in a handover procedure, is determined, so as to produce the optimal transfer of demand between the plurality of networks at the one or more geographic locations at which the plurality of networks overlap.

Abstract: Authentication and authorization of mobile devices for usage of access points in an alternative network. In an embodiment, a mobile device identifies an access point that is available to provide connectivity. A limited connection is established with the identified access point, which permits only a bandwidth exchange (BX) application to utilize a network to which the identified access point provides access. The BX application is executed to initiate authorization with a remote server over the network. After authorization has been completed, the limited connection is switched to a non-limited connection, in which other applications are permitted to utilize the network, according to terms and conditions associated with the identified access point.

Abstract: Application management for a mobile device. In an embodiment, identifier(s) of a mobile device are received over a network. A determination is made as to whether the mobile device has installed a software application based on the identifier(s). When the mobile device is not determined to have installed the software application, a Short Message Service (SMS) message is initiated for providing access to the software application to the mobile device. The access to the software application is provided to the mobile device via the SMS message. After the software application is provided to the mobile device, a determination is made as to whether the mobile device has installed the software application, and, when the mobile device is not determined to have installed the software application, reminder(s) are initiated to the mobile device. Each reminder may comprise an SMS message.

When the sector is determined to be busy, it is determined whether sector(s) of an alternative network, which overlaps with the sector of the home network, are busy based on at least one performance characteristic of the sector(s) of the alternative network. When the sector of the home network is determined to be busy and the sector(s) of the alternative network are not determined to be busy, transmission of an instruction to offload wireless device(s), connected to the home network within the sector of the home network, to at least one of the sector(s) of the alternative network, is initiated.
