  • Patent number: 10078102
Abstract: Precision AC voltage, current, phase, power and energy measurements and calibrations with current ranges from 1 uA to 20 kA and voltage ranges from 1V to 1000 kV are now performed with accuracies of better than one part per million. Continued demand for improved accuracy has led the inventors to address improvements to dual stage and multi-stage current transducers that may form the basis of the measuring process within many of the measurement instruments providing the precision AC measurements and calibrations. Additionally, the improvements to dual stage and multi-stage current transducers provide for novel feedback controlled precision AC current sources without requiring measurement of the AC current source output directly.

  • Patent number: 9709612
Abstract: Accurate measurements of electrical power at various points of a power grid is becoming more important and, at the same time, is getting more difficult as the old power distribution model of a few, large power generating stations and a multitude of relatively linear loads is replaced by a newer model containing a multitude of smaller, and to some degree unpredictable power sources, as well as a multitude of not always linear and often smart (essentially also unpredictable) loads. Embodiments of the invention provide for high accuracy voltage, current and power measurements of quasi-stationary and stationary waveforms in single and multiple phase power systems. Precision AC voltage, current, phase, power and energy measurements in power networks may be measured with current ranges from 1 mA to 20 kA and voltage ranges from 1V to 1000 kV and in a frequency range from a few hertz to one hundred kilohertz.

  • Patent number: 5642300
Abstract: In the precision source disclosed herein, a reference waveform and a correction waveform are combined and fed to an output amplifier which supplies an output waveform to a load, e.g., a wattmeter under test. The reference and correction waveforms are generated by digital-to-analog conversion of values stored in respective data tables. The output waveform is then combined with the reference waveform to obtain an error signal which is then digitized and utilized to update the data table from which the correction waveform is generated.
