  • Publication number: 20240326658
Abstract: A seat movement prevention system for a vehicle includes a seat, an actuator, a switch and an electronic controller. The seat is configured to move from a first position to a second position. The second position is different from the first position The actuator is configured to move the seat from the first position to the second position. The switch is configured to operate the actuator. The electronic controller is configured to disable the switch upon detecting a current shift position is not a park shift position.

  • Patent number: 9919664
Abstract: A vehicle fuel mileage determining system includes a fuel consumption measuring device, a distance measuring device, a display configured to display fuel mileage data and a controller. The controller is coupled to the fuel consumption measuring device, the distance measuring device and the display. The controller is configured to calculate fuel mileage data using baseline data, data from the fuel consumption measuring device and data from the distance measuring device. The controller further shows the fuel mileage data calculated on the display. The controller is further configured to determine the baseline data as follows: in response to a reset condition being detected, the controller defines the baseline data as being equal to initial factory settings; and in response to the reset condition not being detected, the controller defines the baseline data as being equal to previously determined fuel and distance data.

  • Patent number: 9505306
Abstract: A vehicle orientation indicator comprises a sensor and a controller. The sensor is configured to sense a force magnitude imposed on a vehicle during movement of the vehicle. The force magnitude includes an acceleration force component generated by the movement of the vehicle and a gravitational force component. The controller is configured to determine a value of the acceleration force component based on an acceleration of the vehicle with respect to a fixed plane, calculate a modified force magnitude by removing the value of the acceleration force component from the force magnitude, determine an orientation of the vehicle with respect to the fixed plane based on the modified force magnitude and control an indicator device to provide a representation of the orientation of the vehicle.

The controller is configured to determine an orientation of the vehicle with respect to a fixed plane based on the sensed gravitational force component and control an indicator device to provide a representation of the orientation of the vehicle. The controller is further configured to control the indicator device to update the representation of the orientation of the vehicle based on a change in the sensed gravitational force component as sensed by the sensor while a movement condition of the vehicle meets a prescribed condition, and to control the indicator device to refrain from updating the representation of the orientation of the vehicle while the movement condition fails to meet the prescribed condition.
