Patent number: 7898230Abstract: An integrated circuit assembly includes a voltage level generator, a level shifter, a bandgap reference generator and a voltage regulator. The voltage level generator generates output voltage level signals in response to a supply voltage. The level shifter receives the output voltage level signals from the voltage level generator and generates first and second sets of control signals. The bandgap reference generator receives a reference voltage input and generates a bandgap reference signal. The voltage regulator receives a supply voltage, the bandgap reference signal the first and second sets of control signals from the level shifter and generates a constant output voltage under varying circuit conditions.Type: GrantFiled: May 26, 2009Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Skyworks Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Chang-Hyeon Lee, Joshua Cho, Pete Good

Patent number: 6680653Abstract: A system provided for controlling an output frequency of a voltage controlled oscillator relative to a reference frequency. A method includes the steps of detecting a phase error between a divided output of the voltage controlled oscillator and the reference frequency, pumping a frequency control input of the voltage controlled oscillator with the phase error and adjusting a pumping gain based upon a magnitude of the frequency control input to the voltage controlled oscillator. This apparatus includes a phase detector adapted to detect the phase error between the divided output of the voltage controlled oscilator and the reference frequency and a charge pump adapted to pump the frequency control input of the voltage controlled oscillator with the phase error. The apparatus also includes a gain controller adapted to adjust the pumping gain based upon the magnitude of the frequency control input to the voltage controlled oscillator.Type: GrantFiled: December 20, 2000Date of Patent: January 20, 2004Assignee: Skyworks Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Scott A. Patent number: 6552617Abstract: A system for controlling an output frequency of a dual-input voltage controlled oscillator relative to a reference frequency is provided. The method includes the step of coupling a first tune control signal to a first input of the dual-input voltage controlled oscillator. The method further includes the steps of dividing the output frequency of the dual-input voltage controlled oscillator by a value substantially equal to a second tune control signal, comparing a phase of the divided output frequency with a phase of the reference frequency and coupling a phase difference of the compared phases to a second input of the dual-input voltage controlled oscillator.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2000Date of Patent: April 22, 2003Assignee: Skyworks Solutions, Inc.Inventors: Scott A. Griffith, Pete Good, John S. Walley

Patent number: 6298226Abstract: A communications device includes a direct-conversion receiver for a radio frequency (RF) signal which is configured to receive the RF signal during defined time slots. A first input receives the RF signal and a first output outputs a baseband signal derived from the RF signal. A mixer module is configured to receive the RF signal and a local signal which is generated by a local oscillator. The mixer module generates an output signal which includes the baseband signal and an offset component. An amplifier module is connected between the first output and the mixer module, and includes a feedback loop which has in a backward path, a track-and-hold circuit. The track-and-hold circuit is configured to track the offset component during a first time slot and to hold a value of the offset component at an end of the first time slot until a subsequent second time slot begins. This held value is applied during the second time slot to the output signal in order to provide for fast compensation of the offset component.Type: GrantFiled: November 30, 1998Date of Patent: October 2, 2001Assignee: Conexant Systems, Inc.Inventors: Stephen L.
