Patent number: 7628341Abstract: A bodyspray assembly is provided that includes a coupling assembly connected to a spray face. The spray face is operable to emit a directed spray having an omni-directionally adjustable angular orientation. Hence, a spray face in the form of a tile having an array of outlets can direct spray in a variety of directions, or be parallel to a mounting wall for decorative purposes.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 2007Date of Patent: December 8, 2009Assignee: Kohler Co.Inventor: Pete Kajuch
-
Patent number: 7509971Abstract: A fluid control valve includes flexible coupling between a handle and a valve stem which allows the components of the assembly on one side of a wall to be angularly misaligned with the components on the opposing side. Because the components adjacent to the room side of the wall can be mounted perpendicular to the wall, a decorative escutcheon can be mounted flush against the mounting wall when the wall or the valve is out of plumb.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2005Date of Patent: March 31, 2009Assignee: Kohler Co.Inventor: Pete Kajuch

Patent number: 6609402Abstract: This invention relates generally to an electronic touch key for electronic lock sets, and more particularly to an electronic key for use with a lock set. In an electronic key according to the invention, a cylinder plug associated with the lock set includes a fixed data contact pin, which is preferably flush with the face of a cylinder plug, to prevent tampering. The electronic key thus is designed to properly contact the fixed data contact associated with the lock set for proper operation. The present invention provides a construction which facilitates making the contact, and yet provides a durable and simple construction for the electronic key.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2001Date of Patent: August 26, 2003Assignee: Schlage Lock CompanyInventors: Brian David Blankenship, Alan Doerr, Pete Kajuch

Patent number: 6591644Abstract: The invention is directed at an electronic lock assembly which is operable by a suitably programmed electronic key. The electronic lock assembly includes a cylinder type locking mechanism, where a solenoid and plunger is provided to electronically lock and unlock a key cylinder, thereby selectively allowing rotation of the key cylinder for operation of the locking mechanism. To prevent rotation of the key cylinder and loading of the solenoid plunger prior to the solenoid receiving an authorized signal to retract the plunger, a stop mechanism is provided which only allows rotation of the key cylinder in predetermined coordination with operation of the solenoid.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2001Date of Patent: July 15, 2003Assignee: Schlage Lock CompanyInventors: Alan Doerr, Pete Kajuch, Cheryl Kay Koskela

Patent number: 6553800Abstract: The present invention is directed at an electronic lock assembly which uses a simplified locking mechanism, which is operable by a suitably programmed electronic key. The invention is directed to a cylinder type locking mechanism wherein a solenoid and plunger is provided to electronically lock and unlock a key cylinder, thereby allowing rotation of the key cylinder for unlocking of a locking mechanism when a suitably programmed electronic key is used in connection with the mechanism. A side bar and retaining spring engage the cylinder plug to prevent rotation thereof in the locked position with the side bar contacted by the plunger of the solenoid to prevent the side bar from moving until an authorized key is used to unlock the mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: January 19, 2001Date of Patent: April 29, 2003Assignee: Schlage Lock CompanyInventors: Alan Doerr, Pete Kajuch, Cheryl Kay Koskela

Patent number: 6401505Abstract: A combination locker lock is provided having a three digit combination that can be set by a key to one of six different combinations. The locker lock includes a bolt that can retract into the case of the lock, fully extended from the case to function as a dead bolt, and partially extended from the case to function as a spring loaded automatic bolt. A plunger associated with the bolt is used to release the bolt from the partially to the fully extended position, and a single trigger associated with the bolt is used to hold the bolt in the partially extended position and the fully extended position.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 2000Date of Patent: June 11, 2002Assignee: Master Lock CompanyInventors: Pete Kajuch, Glenn Meekma

Patent number: 6109076Abstract: An anti-theft device is provided to deter theft of an automobile and driver's side airbag. The device combines a shield that covers the airbag and at least a portion of the steering wheel and an extensible, ratcheted steering wheel lock. The anti-theft device includes a concave area for accommodating the airbag and a pair of hooks for attaching to the device to the steering wheel.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 1999Date of Patent: August 29, 2000Assignee: Master Lock CompanyInventor: Pete Kajuch

Patent number: 5918916Abstract: An automatic door latch has a case and a bolt movable within the case between a fully extended position in which the bolt extends forwardly of the case and a partially extended position in which the bolt is positioned to contact a door strike. There is a plunger mounted on the bolt, with the bolt and plunger being relatively movable. A spring biases the bolt toward a fully extended position and a spring biases the plunger outwardly of the case. The plunger has a projection which limits outward movement of the plunger to a position in which its extension is the same as that of the bolt when it is in its partially extended position. There is a stop on the bolt movable toward and away from the case and there are projections on the case which coact with the bolt stop to limit bolt extension to its partially extended position.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 1997Date of Patent: July 6, 1999Assignee: Schlage Lock CompanyInventor: Pete Kajuch

Patent number: 5713612Abstract: An interconnected lock assembly for use on a door includes a latch mechanism for positioning in a first bore in a door. There is an outside operating member connected to the latch mechanism for causing operation thereof and there is an inside operating member connected to the latch mechanism for causing operation thereof. A deadbolt mechanism is mounted in a second bore in the door, which second bore is spaced from the first bore. The deadbolt mechanism has a deadbolt which is automatically movable to an extended position when a portion of the deadbolt mechanism contacts a door strike. The deadbolt mechanism includes a swivel and there is a spindle in engagement with the swivel for retracting the deadbolt. An interconnected assembly connects the inside operating member and the spindle whereby movement of the inside operating member both operates the latch mechanism and moves the deadbolt to a retracted position.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1996Date of Patent: February 3, 1998Assignee: Master Lock CompanyInventor: Pete Kajuch
