    Abstract: A variable speed transmission is provided with a coaxial input and output shaft. Bevel gear on the output shaft has meshed thereto pinions carried on a journalled cross shaft on the input shaft. The degree at which the pinions are driven or idle depend upon a leverage arrangement including a rim disc attached to the pinions.
