  • Patent number: 7906337
Abstract: Kits and methods for qualifying automated biological screening system. At least one biological specimen having a plurality of marked target zones (MTZs) exhibiting an attribute is provided. The biological specimen(s) is processed through the automated biological screening system to determine locations of biological objects suspected of exhibiting the attribute. The locations of the MTZs can be compared to the locations of the suspicious biological objects in order to determine a number of matches. The automated biological screening system can then be qualified based on the number of matches, and optionally based on statistical information related to the biological specimen. The statistical information can be acquired by processing the biological specimen through a qualified automated biological screening system over a number of runs.

  • Publication number: 20070148041
Abstract: A system for preparing biological specimen slides comprises a slide preparation apparatus for preparing the specimen slides; a processor configured to control the slide preparation apparatus; and a data retrieval device coupled to the processor and configured to retrieve information from a storage device associated with the slide preparation apparatus or a component used by the slide preparation apparatus, wherein the processor selectively enables operation of the slide preparation apparatus based on the retrieved information.

  • Publication number: 20070140543
Abstract: A system for prescreening and reviewing cytological specimens includes an imager for obtaining and processing image data of a specimen slide, which identifies cellular objects of interest in the specimen, calculates object values for the identified objects based on one or more of their respective physical attributes, and selects fields of view of the specimen slide for subsequent review on a review scope, based on the locations of identified objects having object values of greatest relative interest. One or more of the objects may be further selected by the imager for emphasized review, which may include additional presentation for review (whether automatic or conditioned) of the one or more objects, whether in the same or in a different field of view than when the object(s) were originally presented. Emphasized review of selected objects may also or additionally be provided by highlighting or otherwise visually emphasizing the objects when they are presented for viewing on the review scope.

  • Publication number: 20040014087
Abstract: The present invention provides purified human polynucleotides for diagnostics and therapeutics (dithp). Also encompassed are the polypeptides (DITHP) encoded by dithp. The invention also provides for the use of dithp, or complements, oligonucleotides, or fragments thereof in diagnostic assays. The invention further provides for vectors and host cells containing dithp for the expression of DITHP. The invention additionally provides for the use of isolated and purified DITHP to induce antibodies and to screen libraries of compounds and the use of anti-DITHP antibodies in diagnostic assays. Also provided are microarrays containing dithp and methods of use.
