  • Patent number: 9388984
Abstract: A control system for a fuel-fired appliance and methods of operating are disclosed. When an electrical characteristic of a flame detector fails to cross a threshold level during an ignition attempt and when the electrical characteristic of the flame detector changes by a predetermined amount, the control system may activate an indicator indicating a problem with the flame detector (e.g. dirty, misaligned, or otherwise unable to properly detect the flame).

  • Publication number: 20150368348
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a method for the treatment and prophylaxis of inflammatory conditions. The present invention is predicated in part on the identification of cells of the monocyte/macrophage lineage being critical for inflammation and, in particular, chronic inflammation. In accordance with the present invention, it is proposed that the reduction in levels of monocyte/macrophage-type cells and/or a reduction in the production of inflammatory and pro-inflammatory mediators by these cells, especially locally, is effective in reducing inflammatory conditions. The present invention further provides animal models useful for screening for reducing levels of monocyte/macrophage-type cells and/or reducing the production of inflammatory and pro-inflammatory mediators of these cells.

  • Publication number: 20150354859
Abstract: An embodiment in accordance with the present invention includes an EGS configured to allow the commercial production of electrical energy. One criteria of an EGS according to the present invention is that the temperature and volume of the fluids extracted are sufficiently high and large enough as to allow the commercial production of electrical energy. The system is able to operate for at least N years before the extracted fluid falls below the minimum temperature needed for energy production. Additionally, fractures are separated from each other by a sufficiently large volume of rock (Vcrit) relative to the fractures surface area such that the ratio of the rate of heat extraction to the rate of heat supply controlled by the thermal conductivity of the rock is such that the intervening rock is cooled at a rate that is sufficiently slow to be economic.

  • Publication number: 20150333510
Abstract: An electrostatic discharge (ESD) circuit for use with motorized window shades includes an antenna connected to a motor controller having a printed circuit board, a receiver or transceiver, a microprocessor and memory that are connected to and operate a motor. The ESD circuit is connected to the line-in between the antenna and the downstream components of the printed circuit board. The ESD circuit includes an inductor in parallel with two anti-parallel diodes in reverse polarity to one another. The ESD circuit shunts damaging signals or ESD events to ground by providing a lower impedance or lower resistance path to ground for these signals, whereas the ESD circuit allows the signals of interest to pass by the ESD circuit as the ESD circuit provides a higher impedance or higher resistance path to ground as compared to the signal of interest passing through the receiver or transceiver of the motor controller.

  • Publication number: 20150228145
Abstract: An abstraction layer in a gaming environment intercepts calls to standard random number and user selection functions and returns data based on game operating mode and data availability. When operating as a Class 2 game, random number data may be received from a server while in a Class 3 game, random numbers may be received from a local random number generator. In a history mode or power recovery mode, calls for both random numbers and user selections may be supplied from a file storing data from a previously played or an interrupted game, respectively. Pay table testing may be accommodated by using predetermined random numbers resulting in known reel or other outcome states. The abstraction layer isolates game code from the unique requirements of the different modes of operation required for operating environment or regulatory compliance.

  • Publication number: 20140357354
Abstract: A casino management system uses unique identifiers to automatically identify individual gaming assets and to select a particular asset on a video display of a gaming floor. Information about the specific asset can be retrieved and presented on an overlay of the video display. Identification data for a plurality of assets can be used with known camera locations to automatically generate a map of asset locations on the gaming floor. A unique identifier for each EGM may be transmitted via an optical or infrared signal and received by cameras monitoring the gaming floor.
