  • Patent number: 5514057
Abstract: Disclosed is a flotation platform engineered to permit aquatic based exercise routines in a conventional bathtub for fitness or rehabilitation, and an exercise method directed to total body strength with focus on stomach and back muscles without undue stress to the lower back, joints and disks of the user.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 18, 1994
Date of Patent: May 7, 1996

  • Patent number: 5314395
Abstract: A flotation system to support rehabilitation of patients in an aquatic environment. The system includes a restriction pad to limit the level of flexing associated with select aquatic exercises and pathologies. In addition, the system includes two symmetrically opposed outriggers connected to the upper float section for increase stability during use along with a strapping system on all sections to decrease movement on the device. The rehabilitation float system of the present invention permits patient access to aquatic based exercises even when the patient is handicapped or being rehabilitated from a significant and disabling trauma.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 5, 1992
Date of Patent: May 24, 1994

  • Patent number: 5149314
Abstract: An exercise float platform is formed of specifically dimensioned buoyant sections connected by flexing hinges to permit a user to perform an exercise routine in an aquatic environment. The buoyancy of the individual sections can be selectively adjusted depending on the weight distribution of the individual, or the exercise routine intensity. The exercise float permits the user to perform exercise routines in the water focused on the back, hips and stomach muscle groups along with allowing flexible upper and lower body workouts while either sitting below the water level or reclined above the water level. Separate elastic straps are applied to increase the level of resistance during exercise.

  • Patent number: 4973049
Abstract: A multi-fin aquatic exerciser comprises a main or caudal fin that is strapped to the dorsum of the user's hand or foot. A plurality of secondary fins are attached to the caudal fin and have a spatial configuration that provides significant flow resistance independent of the direction of the user's stroke. The multi-fin exerciser is used in conjunction with specific aquatic exercises providing a complete workout which is especially useful for athletic training, swimming, physical therapy, and shaping, toning, strengthening or enlarging specific muscle groups.
