  • Publication number: 20180087928
Abstract: An inductive sensor device includes a scale unit (24) containing field elements (26) that cooperate with a transmit circuit (32) to create a field pattern (S(x)) in measuring direction (M). A sensor unit (25) contains at least one receive circuit (34) with at least one receive coil (35), respectively. The sensor unit (25) and the scale unit (24) can move relatively in measuring direction (M). The coil loops (37) of the at least one receive coil (35) and/or the scale loops (28) of the scale elements (26) are separated into a loop front (56) and a loop back (57), each containing a sectional portion that runs alternately with regard to the height direction. The alternating run can be obtained by combining linear and/or curved portions so that a meandering, zigzag, sinusoidal, or another arbitrary alternating run can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20180015413
Abstract: Provided is an abatement device that reduces an amount of drainage of circulating water. The abatement device lowers an average drainage flow of circulating water to a low flow, when a ratio of a concentration of silicon dioxide within the circulating water and a concentration of hydrogen fluoride within the circulating water is greater than or equal to a predetermined value at which hydrofluorosilicic acid can be produced, and raises the average drainage flow of the circulating water to a high flow higher than the low flow, when the ratio of the concentration of silicon dioxide within the circulating water and the concentration of hydrogen fluoride within the circulating water is less than the predetermined value.

  • Patent number: 9867493
Abstract: Systems, methods and cartridges for carbonating or otherwise dissolving gas in a precursor liquid, such as water, to form a beverage. A gas source can be provided in a cartridge which is used to generate gas that is dissolved into the precursor liquid. A beverage medium, such as a powdered drink mix or liquid syrup, may be provided in the same, or a separate cartridge as the gas source and mixed with the precursor liquid to form a beverage. The use of one or more cartridges for the gas source and/or beverage medium may make for an easy to use and mess-free system for making sparkling beverages, e.g., in the consumer's home.

  • Patent number: 9833102
Abstract: Apparatus and method for forming beverages using a beverage cartridge and sonic energy. A cartridge may include a sonic receiver, such as a feature that extends into an interior space of the cartridge and is arranged to receive a sonic emitter that introduces sonic energy into the interior space. The sonic receiver may be excited by sonic energy, which causes the sonic receiver to itself introduce sonic energy into the cartridge.

  • Publication number: 20170277713
Abstract: A low latency metadata subsystem for file systems in low latency (LL) mode in a distributed file storage service (DFSS). An LL server (LLS) may receive metadata requests from an access node of the DFSS. For read operations, the LLS may check a local cache of metadata and, for cache hits, retrieve the metadata from the cache. For cache misses, the metadata may be fetched from the storage subsystem of the DFSS and cached. For write operations, the LLS may write entries into a journal for the file system and notify the access node after the journal entries are committed to the journal; the journal entries are asynchronously committed in the storage subsystem. The access node may communicate with the storage subsystem to perform data reads and writes for the LL file system.

  • Publication number: 20170277715
Abstract: A distributed file storage services (DFSS) that provides low latency (LL) and high throughput (HT) modes for file systems. A HT metadata subsystem (HTMS) may use a distributed transaction system for data and metadata reads and writes for file systems in HT mode. A LL metadata subsystem (LLMS) may process metadata requests for file systems in LL mode. For metadata read requests, the LLMS may locally cache at least some of the file system metadata. For metadata write requests, the LLMS may write entries to a journal and notify the access node after the entries are committed to the journal. Data reads and writes for file systems in LL mode may be handled similarly to data reads and writes for file systems in HT mode. A file system may be converted from LL to HT mode, or from HT to LL mode.

  • Patent number: 9639375
Abstract: Described herein is a method and apparatus for generating automatic language bindings. The method includes receiving a request for a first program module in a first language from a second program module in a second language. A binding module is created in the second language in response to the request, where the binding module is generated from debug data of the first program module. The binding module is returned to the second program module. The second program module can then access the functionality of the first program module through use of the functions of the binding module.
