  • Patent number: 10809174
Abstract: A particulate matter measuring apparatus including an inlet for introducing air, a cyclone means fluidly connected to the inlet, the cyclone means adapted to remove particles of a predetermined size from the air, a particle detector to detect particulate matter in the air and a pump to move the air from the inlet, through the cyclone means and through the particle detector, wherein the particle detector has a laser diode to shine laser light through the air and a detector angled at between 115° to 140° relative to the direction of the laser light to detect an amount of laser light scattered by particulate matter in the air.

  • Patent number: 8670867
Abstract: A robotic milking system suitable for use with conventional milking clusters. Clusters are withdrawn to a generally known position upon release from a cow with the cups hanging down below the bowl. The cups are then located in a confined region from where they are picked up by a robotic arm and attached to teats of a cow. The cups may be located into recesses or slots or be drawn through a guide. The arrangement allows a single robotic arm to service multiple bales of a rotary milking parlor. The application of a vacuum to milking cups may be controlled by applying sufficient pressure to the pulsation line of a cup to collapse the cup liner when that cup is not attached to a teat or by bending a feed line to a cup to close the flow path.

    Filed: March 11, 2009
Date of Patent: March 11, 2014
    Assignee: Scott Milktech Limited

  • Patent number: 5761147
Abstract: A virtual two-port memory structure with fast write-thru operation is proposed. The virtual two-port memory structure employs a single-port memory cell (200). Means for comparing (260) compare a read address AR with a write address AW and means (270) for writing data from the data input terminal (250) into the cell (200) are bypassing said data to the data output terminal (280) as well, such that a write-thru operation is enabled if the read address AR matches the write address AW. The data just written into the cell are immediately available as read data within the same cycle. The multiplex unit used in prior art solutions is no longer necessary, the delay caused by this device is omitted and the advantages of the virtual two-port cell requiring less chip space are maintained.

  • Patent number: 4482541
Abstract: A water soluble glass article suitable for treating a diet deficiency in a ruminant animal. Animals are treated by lodging in the reticulo rumen an article containing(a) P.sub.2 O.sub.5(b) R.sub.2 O where R is chosen from Na, K and Li(c) at least one other glass forming or modifying material, usually CaO, MgO or Al.sub.2 O.sub.3(d) at least one deficiency-rectifying element selected from Cu, Se, Co, Zn, I, Mn and Mg.In the composition the sum of P.sub.2 O.sub.5 and R.sub.2 O is not less than 56 mol %, and not more than 76 mol % if CuO and/or ZnO are present or not more than 92 mol % if CuO and/or ZnO are absent and one or more of CoO, SeO and I is present. If CuO and/or ZnO is present then the amount of each of P.sub.2 O.sub.5 and R.sub.2 O (preferably present in substantially equimolar amounts) does not exceed 45 mol %.
