  • Publication number: 20240156407
Abstract: This disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for detecting, monitoring, and responding to abnormalities in a subject's breathing or heartbeat. One or more sensing devices may collect breathing or heartbeat related data, which may be filtered and converted to a frequency signal. The frequency signal may be monitored for irregularity or stoppage, and a processing module may determine whether the irregularity or stoppage is caused by an actual stoppage or irregularity in breathing or heartbeat. If breathing or heartbeat is determined to have stopped, a corrective action may be performed.

  • Publication number: 20240157957
Abstract: A method for controlling motion of a heavy-duty vehicle includes estimating a current vehicle state comprising at least velocity and acceleration, wherein the estimated current state is associated with a current state uncertainty, estimating a future vehicle state based on the current vehicle state, and on a predictive motion model of the vehicle, wherein the future vehicle state is associated with a future vehicle state uncertainty, defining a vehicle control envelope representing an operational limit of the vehicle, wherein the vehicle control envelope defines a range of vehicle states, comparing the estimated future vehicle state, and the associated future vehicle state uncertainty, to the vehicle control envelope, and, if a probability that the future vehicle state breaches the control envelope is above a configured threshold value, limiting a motion capability of the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20140337671
Abstract: Disclosed are new approaches for monitoring an information system such as a GIS. For each service of a plurality of services provided by service computers, a periodic evaluation is performed by requesting performance of the selected test service routine by the service. If no valid response to the request is received within a response window the monitoring computer may produce an output indicating an error status for the service. The response window may be a time window or a maximum number of transmitted requests without a valid response. A monitoring computer may transmit requests to perform a service at a first period if an error indicator associated therewith is set and periodically at a second period if the error indicator associated therewith is not set. Requests to perform the service may not be transmitted during an exclusion time associated with a service or its corresponding service computer.

  • Patent number: 5910643
Abstract: The invention is a twist-on electrical connector incorporating a shallow recess or fitment in its endcap opposite the open end of the socket, to enable application or installation onto electrical wires with a screwgun, screwdriver or similar handheld tool equipped with a corresponding male tip. The connector may incorporate a fitment snap off feature or fitment geometry failure feature to limit the torque that can be applied through the fitment and promote consistent quality of installation. The sidewalls of the connector may be smooth to inhibit installation and removal without tools. The fitment geometry may be compatible with more than one tip design.
