Abstract: A device and method for ligating diseased tissue. The device includes a flexible, substantially tubular sleeve adapted to be positioned around tissue to be ligated and having first and second ends, and at least one anchoring member coupled to the tubular sleeve having an anchoring element positioned substantially adjacent to the first end. The anchoring member has at least one projecting element extending therefrom and adapted to engage healthy tissue when the ligation device is positioned around the tissue to be ligated. The device further includes an elastic element positioned around the periphery of the sleeve and adapted to apply a constrictive force around the periphery of the sleeve.

A sensor in the base generates a coded signal transmitted to the mobile unit which activates LED's in a pattern showing low corners of the RV.

Abstract: A male contraception implant for insertion into the vas deferens of a patient includes a tubular member having an internal bore for receiving a guide wire, a bulbous head portion for anchoring the implant and to facilitate its removal in a contraception reversal procedure, a flexible neck portion attached to the enlarged head portion, and a main body portion having three widened segments for occluding the vas deferens. An implantation tool includes an elastic C-shaped slotted ring for holding an externalized portion of the vas deferens during the delivery of the implant.
