  • Publication number: 20060005985
Abstract: An optional surface fastening system for an electronics housing facilitates its attachment to pre-manufactured fixed panel systems, enclosures and the like. The electronics housing has primary holes or slot features that interface standard screw hardware in order to fasten to varied surfaces or accepts specially designed connector pieces to mechanically attach to the aforementioned fixed enclosures. Connector pieces, designed to interface with any panel system, may be replaced interchangeably and are temporarily fixed by a snap detail located on the primary slots. Method of attaching the electronics housing to a fixed panel system requires integrated pin features on the connector pieces, employed to locate to corresponding holes on the fixed panel, in conjunction with operatives rotation of a specialized pin feature to temporarily lock the electronics housing to the panel system.

  • Publication number: 20030173447
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for operating a workstation of a cheese-producing textile machine, having a pivotably seated creel for rotatably maintaining a cheese, a bobbin drive arranged on the creel, a support roller, which during the winding operation is driven by the cheese by frictional contact, a separate yarn traversing arrangement, as well as a device for raising the creel in case of a yarn break or a defined cleaning cut. In accordance with the present invention it is provided that following a yarn break or a defined cleaning cut, the cheese, which is maintained in the creel and rotated in the unwinding direction by the bobbin drive, and the support roller are sufficiently spaced apart long enough for a suction nozzle to pick up a top yarn required for a subsequent yarn splicing process.

  • Patent number: 6431585
Abstract: A dual stage fastener for securing a vehicle interior trim component to a vehicle body component to cover an air curtain during storage. The fastener includes a pin tethered to a grommet. During deployment of the air curtain, the pin disengages from the grommet and the tether restrains the pin and the associated trim component to reduce the length of travel of the trim component within the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6138937
Abstract: A method for operating a cheese-producing textile machine (1), having a plurality of aligned work stations (2), a transport device (21) extending over the length of the machine for removing finished cheeses (11), and a cheese changer (23) displaceable above the work stations with an ultrasound sensor device (30) connected to the control device (38) of the cheese changer (23) for monitoring the loading state of the transport device (21). The sensor device (30, 38) is initially set to the climatic conditions of the respective place of employment by processing appropriate reference sound signals, i.e. a correction factor is determined. During operation, scanning values (TW) are then determined by means of the traveling time of the measuring sound signals of the ultrasound sensor (30) which, taking into consideration the respectively prevailing climatic conditions, permit conclusions regarding the loading state of the transport device (21) in the deposit areas of the respective work station (2).

  • Patent number: 6052943
Abstract: The invention presents the use of non-woven fiber barriers applied to agricultural products or the plants to protect agriculturally or aesthetically valuable plants from damage inflicted by pests of agricultural or ornamental plants. Experiments with these fiber barriers have shown a significant deterrent to both the oviposition and feeding of a varied group of agricultural pests. This pest management strategy will be of significant economic value in the more pest sensitive phases of plant growth. Another positive benefit of the use of this system of pest control is that it may allow the elimination or moderation in the use of pesticides in commercial agricultural operations, home gardens, or the urban environment. In this way alleviating public concerns about the large number of pesticide treatments that agricultural products typically receive.
