  • Patent number: 6338445
Abstract: A fuel injector comprising a nozzle body having a first bore defining first and second seatings, an outer valve needle being slidable within the first bore and engageable with the first seating to control fuel flow from a first outlet opening. The outer valve needle is provided with a second bore within which an inner valve needle is slidable, the inner valve needle being engageable with the second seating to control fuel delivery through a second outlet opening. The outer valve needle includes a deformable region which is shaped such that, in use, when the outer valve needle is urged against the first seating, the outer valve needle deforms. The deformable region may be shaped such that, in use, when the outer valve needle is urged against the first seating, the outer valve needle deforms to close the first outlet opening.

  • Patent number: 6133344
Abstract: A colored pulverulent coating composition comprising spherical particles having a mean particle size >40 .mu.m, in two or more different color tints, where at least the particles of one color tint are colored and the particles of the other color tint may be colorless. The particles employed for the mixture each have a monomodal particle size distribution with a span (d90-d90/d50) of .ltoreq.2.5. Furthermore the pulverulent coating composition can be melted at temperature <200.degree. C. to form a continuous coating, the differences in color which stem from the different-colored particles being indistinguishable to the human eye in the cured coating. The mean particle size (d50) of the spherical particles is preferably in the range from 40 .mu.m to >10 .mu.m. The novel coating composition can be used to produce coatings having a thickness of <50 .mu.m.

  • Patent number: 5752449
Abstract: A working furniture item or table has a modular construction and is usable as an office and conference table and as a work place for electronics engineers, computers, laboratories and technicians. In order to create a working table which functions correctly and which is subsequently reequippable to comply with individual ergonomic requirements, vertical sections associated with a table top have, in their cavities, a vertical adjustment device for a table top arranged as a first working plane. A horizontal cable duct transverse beam is provided as a reinforcing connection between the vertical sections on either side of the table top. The beam permits an integrated cabling or wiring with further working planes arranged in accordance with an ergonomic space concept.

  • Patent number: 5736621
Abstract: A process is described for the preparation of polyesters by polycondensation of dicarboxylic acid-diol precondensates (oligomers) at elevated temperature in a liquid heat transfer medium in the presence of customary polycondensation catalysts and, if appropriate, cocondensable modifying agents, wherein the liquid heat transfer medium is inert and free of aromatic structural groups and has a boiling point in the range from 200.degree. to 320.degree. C., wherein the weight ratio of dicarboxylic acid-diol precondensate (oligomers) employed to liquid heat transfer medium is in the range from 20:80 to 80:20 and wherein the polycondensation is carried out in the reaction mixture at 200.degree. to 320.degree. C. in the presence of a dispersion stabilizer. Furthermore, the polyesters and copolyester which can be prepared by the process and their use are described.

  • Patent number: 5722269
Abstract: A locking device is used for doors of cabinets or cupboards and, more parularly, for doors of modular cupboard systems. In order to create an operationally reliable, inexpensive locking device which is suitable for narrow counterstops and which permits an installation independently of the fixing side, as well as an inexpensive conversion when the fixing side is changed, the locking device is given a bipartite construction with a handle positioned in the vicinity of a door plate and a bolt mechanism operable by a tumbler. The device has a first door plate area receiving the handle and a second door plate area. A locking movement, initiated by the handle, is subject to a deflection, preferably of approximately 90.degree., in the direction of a counterstop and a closed or open position of at least one locking element in a cabinet or cupboard-side receptacle is obtained.

  • Patent number: 5352985
Abstract: An apparatus for determining the relative positions of power outlets within a multi-outlet electrical circuit and, specifically, for determining the first occurring power outlet in a multiple-earth-neutral power system in which earth and neutral wires are interconnected at a distribution point. The apparatus incorporates circuitry for generating a current pulse and probe means for injecting the pulse into a wiring loop which extends between neutral and earth contact terminals of each of the power outlets. The probes are also employed for detecting the voltage drop which occurs along the wiring loop as a consequence of the current flow through the loop, and circuitry is provided for generating a signal which is representative of the voltage drop along the wiring loop.

  • Patent number: 5310858
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing compounds of the formula (I) ##STR1## by pyrolysis, where n is the degree of polymerization and is.gtoreq.2. For this purposes compounds of the formula (II)--R--CO--O--CH.sub.2 --Ar--CH.sub.2 --O--CO--R (II)are pyrolyzed in one stage under conditions resulting in cleavage of the ester bonds under a partial pressure of the esters of p.ltoreq.10 mbar at temperatures T.gtoreq.500.degree. C., with the formation of the corresponding derivatives of 1,4-dimethylene-2,5-cyclohexadiene, but without the latter being cleaved further in subsequent reactions. The polymers of p-xylylene formed by spontaneous polycondensation of the derivatives of 1,4-dimethylene-2,5-cyclohexadiene were then cooled, Ar and R have the following meanings:--Ar-- is a 1,4-phenylene radical or another C.sub.6 -C.sub.12 aromatic or heteroaromatic radical in which the bonds are in the para position or a comparable coaxial or antiparallel position;R-- is preferably branched or unbranched C.sub.1 -C.
