  • Publication number: 20240173278
Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods for supplying nutrients to ruminants, swine, and poultry. Beneficially, the methods and systems disclosed eliminate pervasive odors characteristic of the nutrients. The methods and systems relate to combining isoacids with liquid feed, blended solid animal feed, or total mixed ration (TMR) and delivering the supplemented feed to animals. Preferably, the isoacids are in a liquid form when combined with a feed.

  • Publication number: 20220400705
Abstract: A process and composition for animal feed supplements without substantial foul odor problems prepared by reacting neat, a calcium metal source selected from the group consisting of calcium oxide and calcium hydroxide with a low molecular weight volatile fatty acid selected from the group consisting of butyric acid, isobutyric acid, 2 methyl butyric acid, valeric acid and isovaleric acid. Under controlled reaction conditions (neat) and a controlled weight ratio of the two reactants a product that is substantially odor free and useful as an animal feed supplement results.

  • Patent number: 10524489
Abstract: A method and composition which is a unique source of cobalt for enhanced production of Vitamin B12 in the rumen. It has the advantage of a slow release source of cobalt combined with a fast release source of cobalt. The fast cobalt ion release source which is a soluble source of cobalt is turned over faster in the rumen than the insoluble cobalt sources are turned over.

  • Patent number: 10219528
Abstract: A method and composition for dietary supplementation of ruminants with folic acid in a manner that assures the folic acid will not be consumed by rumen bacteria and instead will pass through to the intestine and to the animal's blood serum in order to enhance milk production. The folic acid in water is mixed with a water soluble metal salt of zinc, copper, iron or manganese or mixtures thereof to form a metal folate complex.
