  • Publication number: 20070268852
Abstract: A method of controlling wireless messaging between mobile apparatuses and an onsite office in a worksite comprises the steps of: dividing the worksite area into elementary cells (C) mapped in correspondence with the topology of the area and into and communication zones (CZ), for a given communication zone of the worksite, establishing at least one updatable communication attribute value pertaining to a parameter of wireless communication to or from the given cell or communication zone, for a given elementary cell, establishing at least one worksite management attribute value of the worksite at that cell, the worksite management attribute value pertaining to a parameter other than a wireless communication parameter, storing, in an electronic memory (20), values of the worksite and communication attributes, each stored attribute value being electronically indexed to the elementary cell, or to the communication zone, for which it was determined, forming a worksite management message with an electronically readab

  • Publication number: 20070214687
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a surface-modifying machine, wherein information on the desired condition and on the actual condition of ground to be prepared is provided and is used to derive control statements for the machine based on a comparison of the desired and the actual condition. The information on the actual condition is represented by a point cloud as a spatial distribution of discrete surface points. In order to derive control statements, at least two surface points each from the point cloud are used for every horizontal position so that non-differentiated information can be derived that for example also allow to identify various planes.

  • Publication number: 20070050137
Abstract: Operations in a worksite (20) are managed by networking at least some items of apparatus (4, 16, 24, 26, 30, 28, 34) which perform tasks in connection with said worksite and which receive and/or send data. The items of apparatus are organized in hierarchical levels according to a determined dependency relationship of the worksite. Communications are made with an electronic data network comprising management means (74, 76, 66, 64) cooperating with a plurality of communications interfaces (42-46), a given item of apparatus having a data link with a specified communications interface. The management means stores a correspondence between each item of apparatus and an address strcture reflecting the hierarchical position of that item of apparatus (4, 16,24, 26, 30, 28, 34) in the determined dependency relationship of the worksite.

  • Patent number: 6753759
Abstract: A transponder includes a data memory and a mechanism for contactless interaction with a base station. The transponder is brought (1) into an active field of the base station. Before the transponder is deactivated (7) by the base station by the transfer of a command signal (5), the authorization of the base station for deactivation (7) is checked (4). Before the transfer of the command signal (5) an admission signal which contains first admission information is transmitted (3) from the base station to the transponder. The first admission information with second admission information stored in the data memory is processed by the transponder into authorization information. Based on the authorization information it is decided (4) whether the command signal is accepted (7) or rejected (8). Thus the transponder while keeping secret the data present in the transponder may be reliably deactivated (7) or reactivated.

  • Patent number: 6696923
Abstract: In a transponder application, at least one transponder and at least one interrogating reader, the reader has at least two receiving units so disposed, for instance at different distances, relatively to the transponder, that signals from the same are received at different levels by the receiving units. By combination, e.g. by subtraction, of the received signals, disturbing signals received at practically the same level are eliminated while the difference of useful transponder signals is available. This substantially improves system performance in transponder applications and allows to increase the operating distance between reader and transponder.

  • Publication number: 20030036317
Abstract: For assembling a semiconductor chip (1-5) and a substrate (10), an electrically conducting layer (6) is applied to each terminal pad (1) of the chip, said layer (6) extending from said pad onto the surface the chip for increasing the contacting surface of each pad. In this way, less precision is required for safely assembling said chip and substrate with the correct electrical connections and for high stability.

  • Publication number: 20020180587
Abstract: A method for communication with multiple transponders, particularly for reading digital information from transponders. The information being different in every transponder, as may be a chip serial number (S/N), is transmitted by the transponders using the same response channel for all transponders in such a way that possible states of a digital information per digit are transmitted during different windows in time for every digit position using a type of modulation (e.g. ASK, FSK, PSK). Each window is associated to a possible state of a digit position. In one embodiment some of the windows are associated to a predetermined state corresponding to no modulation for reference.

Abstract: A transponder comprises a data memory and means for the contactless interaction with a base station. The transponder is brought (1) into an active field of the base station. Before the transponder is deactivated (7) by the base station by the transfer of a command signal (5), the authorisation of the base station for deactivation (7) is checked (4). The first admission information with second admission information stored in the data memory is processed by the transponder into authorisation information. On account of the thus obtained authorisation information in the transponder it is decided (4) whether the command signal is accepted (7) or rejected (8). Thus the transponder whilst keeping secret the data present in the transponder may be reliably deactivated (7) respectively reactivated.

  • Publication number: 20020083951
Abstract: An implantable identification marker comprises an electronic device (4) enclosed within a vial (1; 2) isolating the device (4) from body fluids of the animal after insertion of the marker into the body of an animal. The marker further comprises a fixation structure (8; 5) providing a significantly in-creased total surface of the marker and/or a reduced specific weight of the marker. This improves the integration of the marker into the surrounding tissue avoiding migration within the animal.
