  • Publication number: 20080133440
Abstract: A computer system, method and program product for determining an order to replace parts of a product in response to a problem with the product. Determinations are made as to a most likely one of the parts to have failed and caused the problem with the product and a next most likely one of the parts to have failed and caused the problem with the product. A determination is also made if the one part was already replaced within a predetermined period. If so, the one part is not recommended for replacement and instead the next part is recommended for replacement. If not, the one part is recommended for replacement.

  • Patent number: 6703005
Abstract: A deodorant or antiperspirant soft solid composition is filled into dispensing containers by injection moulding, i.e. under pressure, preferably in the vicinity of its normal setting temperature. The deodorant or antiperspirant composition is preferably continuously produced in a screw extruder, especially a twin screw extruder, controlled to deliver the composition in a suitably viscous state under low shear and particularly for formulations in which a particulate antiperspirant is suspended in a fluid carrier. The pressure in the injection head at the point of injection is greater than 120 kPa and in many instances from 800 to 2000 kPa. The combined process offers benefits for controlled fill of dispensing containers, particularly for formulations incorporating sensitive ingredients and offers tolerance in composition temperature at the time of fill.

  • Publication number: 20030191731
Abstract: A high performance Rule Engine, capable of handling interactions and dependencies within a system. A system, such as a provisioning system for customer care, contains many pieces of interdependent Data. The Rule Engine uses Rule Objects that only need to know hoe to understand and apply a very specific type of Rule from a Rule set. This minimizes the need to parse and interpret a complex all-purpose Rule language. Each Rule Object can be linked together to form a list of Rules emanating from a Business Rule Coordinator Objects. Moreover, each Rule Object is loaded with a operator, such as a conditional operator, at startup, after which the conditional operator does not need to change and the Rule Object hierarchy can be kept active in memory.

  • Publication number: 20030005233
Abstract: A method, and computer readable medium for control of data in a caching application. An indexed list of a type is used to hold cache elements for ease of lookup while a linked usage list is maintained for the Most Recently Used/Least Recently Used elements. Pointers between the lists are also maintained. This allows the cache to find both a specific entry if it exists and if it does not, and in the latter case the LRU element can be located without the need for a sequential search. Each element in the linked list holds a pointer to a cache element in the, and each cache element record in the indexed list also holds a pointer to its corresponding record in the linked list, in addition to the actual cached data.

  • Patent number: 6338840
Abstract: In a first aspect, a process for forming deodorant or antiperspirant sticks by continuously forming a mobile composition for dispensing into containers or molds at a rate matched with the rate at which it is dispensed, and in other aspects a process in which a mobile deodorant or antiperspirant composition is dispensed by injection molding, i.e. a process in which the deodorant or antiperspirant composition is dispensed under pressure. The composition at the time of injection moulding is preferably either in the vicinity of its regular set temperature, particularly in the range of about 0-3° C. below the regular set temperature and/or partially structured at the time of its delivery it into a container or mold.

  • Patent number: 6120714
Abstract: A process for forming a molded article having a multilayer structure which comprises successively injecting melts of at least two materials into the cavity portion of a mold, solidifying a part thereof in the cavity portion to form the multilayer structure, characterized in that as a first step, one of the molten materials is injected into the cavity portion and the portion of the injected molten material contacting with the mold surface is solidified to a predetermined thickness to form a skin layer; as the second step, the next molten materials is fed into the cavity, the unsolidified portion of the molten material previously fed is pushed out of the cavity and a part of the thus fed molten material is cooled and solidified from the surface of the mold to form the next layer; and the procedure of the second step is successively repeated using the remainder of the molten materials alternately, and the molded article produced by the above molding process.
