Abstract: The present invention relates to a pecking block for birds and a method of producing the same. The pecking block comprises: a filler material comprising diatomaceous earth or a combination of diatomaceous earth and a clay-based material or mineral; a wetting agent; and optionally, one or more additives selected from the group consisting of (a) one or more mold inhibitors, (b) one or more binding agents, (c) one or more coloring agents, (d) one or more scenting agents; and (e) a combination thereof.

Abstract: A particulate urea product having improved hardness, nonfriable and anti-caking properties and which is useful for either direct application to the soil or as an intermediate product for the subsequent incorporation with other fertilizer materials into solid bulk blends. The product consists of an admixture of urea and a finely divided inorganic material selected from the group consisting of calcium oxide, calcium hydroxide, cement and fly ash and is in particulate form, some examples of which are granules or prills.

Abstract: An animal litter capable of agglomerating in the presence of animal urine so that the wetted litter can readily be separated and removed from unwetted litter, comprises clay granules which have, exposed on their surfaces, a layer or pregelatinized, cationic starch which is confined to the surfaces of the granules; the starch comprising between 0.2% and 2% of the weight of the litter. The layer of starch is effective to cause agglomeration of adjacent granules when wetted, but is such that the agglomerated granules will readily disagglomerate when placed in water, to allow flushability.
