  • Patent number: 8490157
Abstract: Within a surface computing environment users are provided a seamless and intuitive manner of modifying security levels associated with information. If a modification is to be made the user can perceive the modifications and the result of such modifications, such as on a display. When information is rendered within the surface computing environment and a condition changes, the user can quickly have that information concealed in order to mitigate unauthorized access to the information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 26, 2009
Date of Patent: July 16, 2013
    Assignee: Microsoft Corporation
Inventors: Peter B. Thompson, Ian M. Sands, Ali M. Vassigh, Eric I-Chao Chang
  • Publication number: 20100218249
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates authentication of a user in a surface computing environment. A device or authentication object can be carried by a user and employed to retain authentication information. An authentication component can obtain the authentication information from the device and analyze the information to verify an identity of the user. A touch input component can ascertain if a touch input is authentication by associating touch input with the user. In addition, authentication information can be employed to establish a secure communications channel for transfer of user data.

  • Patent number: 5143729
Abstract: Ultra-violet screening compounds have been combined with hydrophobic fluid and solid-repellent compounds to provide a spray, and ultimately a thin solid adherent layering, deposit or coating for fabrics and the like that simultaneously imparts both fade or photodegradiation-resisting properties, and fluid and soil repellent properties.

  • Patent number: 4942712
Abstract: A roof covering suitable for use on flat or shallow angle roofs is of sheet-like form and has at least one raised region (7) in the sheet, the raised region (7) merging into undulations (5) of the border (2) surrounding the raised region (7). The shape of the covering enables differential expansion and or contraction effects between the covering and a substrate (3) on which it is laid to be accommodated.

  • Patent number: 4760679
Abstract: Polyester resin glass fiber-reinforced similar planar panels and roofs formed therefrom incorporating as an integral portion of the panels one or more narrow ridges, including ridges disposed at angles to one another, for accommodating expansion or contraction relative to the substrate on which the same is laid.
