  • Patent number: 7728737
Abstract: A method and system is provided for the output of an information message in a vehicle, whereby an information message is stored, the current location of the vehicle is determined, a driver of the vehicle triggers an assignment of a stored information message to a location, and the information message assigned to a location is automatically emitted when the vehicle is situated at this location.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 27, 2007
Date of Patent: June 1, 2010
    Assignee: Bayerische Motoren Werke Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventor: Peter Bachmaier

  • Patent number: 6320685
Abstract: In a data bus for vehicles with a plurality of subscribers, said subscribers operating through peripheral S/E modules and an optical transmission line on a central bus, said bus having associated S/E bus modules connected to one another, said modules receiving a light signal emitted by a peripheral S/E module and passing it as a control signal to the other S/E bus modules and through these modules as a light signal to the corresponding peripheral S/E modules, the S/E bus modules switch off the corresponding peripheral S/E module when they receive a light signal over the transmission line that is longer than the maximum admissible signal length.

    Inventors: Robert Griessbach, Peter Bachmaier
  • Patent number: 6300866
Abstract: A method is provided for determining the severity and pattern of a vehicle collision. A plurality of crash sensors are located in various points in the vehicle. Output signals from the crash sensors are fed to an evaluation unit. The output signals of the crash sensors are related to a system of coordinates that is invariable relative to the vehicle. Information about the movement of the sensor locations and the system of coordinates is obtained from the output signals.

  • Patent number: 6169945
Abstract: A process is provided for controlling occupant safety devices corresponding to specific requirements while taking into account the occupant's expected movement relative to the vehicle. The expected movement of the vehicle occupant is determined on the basis of the expected acceleration profile of the vehicle during the accident and on the basis of the actual parameters of the individual vehicle occupant. The expected acceleration profile of the vehicle is extrapolated on the basis of the acceleration profile which took place up to the respective point in time.
