  • Publication number: 20130252588
Abstract: A computerized system of recording communications between a first party and a second party automatically notifies the second party to the recording of the communication. A request is received at a first telecommunications device, utilized by the first party, to initiate the communications between the parties, either by receiving or placing a call or text message. A unique identifier identifying a second communications device, utilized by the second party, is received by the first telecommunications device. A warning message is then automatically sent to the second communications device that the communications are being recorded. The communications between the devices is then recorded.
    Type: Application
    Filed: March 25, 2013
    Publication date: September 26, 2013
Inventors: J. Robert Kamal, Peter Bainbridge-Clayton

  • Patent number: 5599784
Abstract: Liquid detergent compositions comprise hydrophobically-terminated, hydrophilic polymers as deflocculating agents, phase stabilizers, builders or co-builders and viscosity modifiers, in addition to detergent active material and electrolytes contained in an aqueous continuous phase.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 1994

  • Patent number: 5047087
Abstract: The invention provides cost effective cementiferous compositions having superior flow characteristics imparted by the incorporation therein of a copolymer of an ethylenically polymerizable carboxylic acid, an alkyl ester of a ethylenically polymerizable carboxylic acid and, optionally, a third ethylenically unsaturated comonomer.
    Type: Grant

Assignee: National Starch and Chemical Investment Holding Corporation
Inventors: Peter G. Montague, Peter Bainbridge, John T. Hoarty
  • Patent number: 5021525
Abstract: A process for the preparation of polymers containing at least one hydrophilic monomeric component and at least one hydrophobic monomeric component comprising the step of polymerizing the monomers in the presence of free radical polymerization initiators in an aqueous medium consisting of water and a cosolvent, wherein the amount of cosolvent is monitored so as to maintain the ratio of water to cosolvent equal or greater than unity during the reaction, thereby keeping the polymer as it forms in a sufficiently mobile condition and preventing homopolymerization and precipitation of the polymer from the hydrophobic monomer; thereby producing a polymer as a relatively high solids, low viscosity, opaque or semi-opaque product which is stable and slightly cloudy, opaque or semi-opaque, which exhibits no gelling, coagulation or product separation on standing and which, upon dilution to 0.25% solids content w/w, has a turbidity of at least 10 Nephelometric Turbidity units.

  • Patent number: 4937002
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for treating aqueous systems to reduce or prevent the deposition of barium sulphate and other insoluble sulphates therein, comprising the addition to the water of an effective amount of an interpolymer of an ethylenically polymerizable carboxylic acid, and at least one of an ethylenically polymerizable dicarboxylic acid or other copolymerizable comonomer. The polymers are particularly effective in preventing scale precipitate at high levels of barium (e.g. 700 ppm) and under low pH conditions.

  • Patent number: 4836933
Abstract: Aqueous media are treated to reduce or prevent the deposition of solid material therein comprising the addition to the water of an effective amount of at least one polymer or copolymer formed from a monomer of the following general structure: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is independently H or CH.sub.3 ; X is (CH.sub.2)n with n an integer of 0 or 1 or ##STR2## n.sub.1 is an integer of 1 to 10; and M is a metal cation, ammonium or hydrogen.
