  • Patent number: 5997084
Abstract: A stackable chair is provided which is configured to alter the forward shift of the center of gravity of a stack of the chairs such that a larger number of such chairs can be stacked in a stable stack as compared to a stack of prior art chairs. The stackable chair includes a seat member, a seat back extending from the seat member, a plurality of legs secured to the seat member and a seat pan secured to the bottom of the seat member. The seat member defines a wedge shape and the seat pan is disposed at angle with respect to the seat member. The seat member and the seat pan cooperate to alter the forward shift of the center of gravity to an arcuate path when the chairs are placed in a stack. Further, the seat pan is configured to protect the seat cushion upon which it rests against indentations.

  • Patent number: 5762396
Abstract: A stackable chair (10) and an associated stacking support assembly. The chair (10) includes a frame (22) defining at least first and second front leg members (14, 16) and first and second rear leg members (18, 20), with a seat portion (12) being supported on the frame (22). The chair (10) includes a stacking support assembly for facilitating the stacking of the chair (10) upon another chair (10). The stacking support assembly includes first and second lower support bars (26, 28) mounted on opposite sides of the frame (22) below the seat portion (12), and includes first and second upper support bars (30, 32) mounted on opposite sides of the frame (22) below the seat portion (12) and above, and selectively spaced from, the first and second lower support bars (26, 28), respectively.

  • Patent number: 5564787
Abstract: A chair frame and associated chair framing material. The chair frame (10) includes an upper frame portion (12) for supporting a seat (14) and a plurality of leg members (22, 24). The chair frame (10) is fabricated of elongated bar material (26) defining a substantially rectangular cross-section with corners which define expanded areas such that reenforcing ribs (28) are provided along the length of the elongated bar material (26).

  • Patent number: 5542748
Abstract: A device for selectively anchoring a seat assembly, such as a stool or chair, relative to a fixed station, such as a gaming machine or service station. The anchoring device includes a sled or support base for the seat assembly and a quick release anchoring system or connector assembly for releasably locking the sled or support base in a desired position relative to the fixed station and limiting lateral sliding movement of the sled in its locked position. The anchoring system is operable using a very small degree of vertical lifting of the seat assembly and sled base and which is locked automatically in the mating bracket against lateral displacement from the bracket after installation of the seat assembly in the mating bracket.

  • Patent number: 5524963
Abstract: A stacking interface device (10) for altering the stacked disposition of a chair (12) to facilitate the stable stacking of such chair on other chairs. The stacking interface device (10) includes an interface body (14) for being secured beneath the seat bottom (16) of a chair (12), the interface body (14) having a forward portion (18) and a rearward portion (20). The interface body (14) also defines a lower surface (22) for supporting the chair upon the seat cushion (24) of a second chair (12). The lower surface (22) of the interface body (14) is disposed at an angle relative to the lower surface (26) of the seat bottom (16) of the chair to which the device (10) is attached such that the distance between the lower surface (22) of the interface body (14) and the lower surface (26) of the seat bottom of the chair decreases from the forward portion (18) of the interface body to the rearward portion (20) of the interface body (14).

  • Patent number: 5409296
Abstract: An adjustable planar sled or support base for a seat assembly which can be selectively adjusted in its length for changing the distance between the seat assembly and a fixed station such as a machine or the like. The planar sled or support base comprises a base plate including a recessed bed opening toward the front end of the support base and an adjustment plate member slidably engaged within the recessed bed and having an end extending outwardly therefrom. The adjustment plate member has a connecting device at the outwardly extending end for anchoring the seat relative to the machine. The adjustment plate member is movable in the bed for adjusting the length of the support base. The base plate includes fasteners to releasably secure the adjustment plate member in the recessed bed to maintain the selected length of the support base.

  • Patent number: 5282669
Abstract: A combination ganging and stacking bar assembly for chairs. The bar assembly comprises a pair of substantially identical bar members each adapted to be secured between a pair of front and rear legs of the chair. The bar members each have integral offset medial segments extending outwardly of the plane of the outwardly facing surfaces of the legs of the chair. The offset medial portions of a pair of said bar members having cooperating male and female connecting structure for releasable ganging together a pair of such chairs in side-by-side relationship. Each bar member having bumper pads secured thereon on opposite sides of the medial segment constructed and arranged to engage leg portions of the chair below it in a stacked formation of like chairs.
