  • Publication number: 20260137405
Abstract: An intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) catheter including at least one acoustic wave generator and a drug-releasing coating on the exterior of the catheter, the drug-releasing coating including a therapeutic agent including an antiproliferative drug. A method of performing IVL includes inserting an IVL catheter to a target site in a body lumen, wherein the target site includes a calcified plaque and the body lumen includes a blood vessel. The method includes emitting an acoustic wave from at least one acoustic wave generator in the IVL catheter to emit an acoustic wave to the target site. The method includes removing the IVL catheter from the target site.

  • Patent number: 12605342
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to polymer-encapsulated drug particles and a drug-releasing coating including the same, as well as drug-coated balloon catheters for treating, preventing, or reducing the recurrence of strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes the polymer-encapsulated drug particles; or a drug-releasing coating including the polymer-encapsulated drug particles; or a therapeutic agent and a first and/or second additive; or a combination thereof.

  • Publication number: 20260041821
Abstract: A drug-releasing coating includes polymer-encapsulated drug particles including a therapeutic agent, one or more polymers that encapsulate the therapeutic agent, and a first ionic or zwitterionic additive. The first ionic or zwitterionic additive is in the polymer-encapsulated drug particles, coated on a surface of the polymer-encapsulated drug particles, or a combination thereof. The drug-releasing coating also includes a release matrix including a second ionic or zwitterionic additive.

  • Publication number: 20250339654
Abstract: Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating, preventing, or reducing the recurrence of a stricture and/or cancer, or for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in a non-vascular body lumen and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a length-control mechanism which stretches and elongates the balloon when it is in a deflated state, giving the balloon a smaller cross-sectional deflated profile for tracking through the body lumen and for removal after treatment.

  • Publication number: 20250295841
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a method of treating a stricture in a nonvascular body lumen such as urethral strictures, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) strictures, ureteral strictures, esophageal strictures, sinus strictures, and biliary tract strictures. Embodiments of the present invention provide a method for treating at least one of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), prostate cancer, asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The method can include delivering, for example, via drug coated balloon catheters, anti-inflammatory and anti-proliferative drugs (e.g., rapamycin, paclitaxel, and their analogues) and one or more additives.
