  • Patent number: 9364990
Abstract: A system for forming a container from a preform includes a first mold operable to receive the preform and operable to blow mold a first form of the container from the preform. The system also includes a second mold operable to receive the first form and operable to blow mold a second form of the container from the first form. The preform, the first form, and the second form each include a substantially common transitional wall. Also, the first form can include various features that ensure that material will be distributed as desired throughout the container, to ensure high wall strength, and to ensure high crystallinity.

  • Patent number: 9271569
Abstract: A table includes a vertical support column and a base. The base includes a first floor engaging portion disposed on a first side of a vertical axis and a second floor engaging portion disposed on an opposite second side of the vertical axis. The first and second floor engaging portions are weighted such that the base has a center of gravity spaced from the vertical axis on the second side of the vertical axis. A worksurface member is supported by the vertical support column and is vertically spaced from the base. The worksurface member is rotatable relative to the base. In one aspect, the worksurface member has an overall length greater than the overall length of the base. In another aspect, a stop limits rotation of the worksurface member.

  • Publication number: 20150167381
Abstract: A slatted blind is configured such that the slats close create a light blocking blind. The slats may be supported by a tilt cord that comprises a low stretch strand or a low stretch cord may be attached to the tilt cord. The slats may be connected to the supporting tilt cord such that when the slat is rotated to a closed position the slat is suspended from the rung. The rung may have an effective diameter of less than approximately 14 mil. Recesses may be formed in the slat for receiving the rung when the slat is in a closed position. A bottom rail may have a thickness approximately equal to the thickness of the slats. A protrusion may be formed on the back of the slats such that the rung pushes on the protrusion to force the slat against an adjacent slat when the blind is closed.

  • Patent number: 8941465
Abstract: Secure door entry without a traditional card reader is made possible by tagging the door with an unpowered, unique token which can be read by a user's personal mobile electronic device. The user's device transmits both door and user identification to a remote server, where the decision is made whether to open the door. If so, the server sends an open door signal using the IP suite of protocols to an electronic bridge, which in turn passes the signal on to a door strike, opening the door. Another signal may be sent to an annunciator. Single-use digital tokens may also be used to open the doors. The permissions relating to doors or other physical assets may also be used to grant access to logical assets.

  • Publication number: 20140360683
Abstract: A window covering comprises slats suspended from a tilt cord such that the tilt cord may rotate the slats between an open position and a closed position. An elastic seal is provided on the slats to contact adjacent slats when the slats are in the closed position. A mechanism such as a spring or a magnet applies a closing force to the slats in the closed position separate from the tilt cord where the closing force moves the slats toward one another. An elastic seal is provided on the slats to contact adjacent slats when the slats are in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 8907763
Abstract: Mustering of persons from a building in an emergency situation is made possible by tagging mustering stations with unpowered, unique tokens which can be read by a user's personal mobile electronic device. The user's device transmits both mustering station identity and user identification to a remote server, where, upon successful validation, the user is removed from a list of persons to be mustered. The system may be part of a physical access security system for the building, in which single-use digital tokens as well as traditional cards may be used to open the doors. The permissions relating to doors or other physical assets may also be used to grant access to logical assets within the building.

  • Publication number: 20140333013
Abstract: A system for forming a container from a preform includes a first mold having a plurality of first portions that cooperate to define a first internal surface against which the preform is blown for forming a first form. The system also includes a second mold having a plurality of second portions that cooperate to define a second internal surface against which the first form is blown for forming a second form. Also, the system includes a mold servo motor that actuates the plurality of first portions relative to each other and/or actuates the plurality of second portions relative to each other. Furthermore, the system includes a controller that controls the mold servo motor for controlled actuation of the plurality of first portions and/or the plurality of second portions.
