Abstract: A spring action guide bar stop for portable power chain saw is located adjacent the saw housing near where the chain returns to the housing to absorb and dampen vibration during operation of the saw. The spring stop is preferably a leaf spring coiled into a loop so that the side of the loop contacts the object being cut with friction dampening being obtained by providing frictional contact between the ends of the spring loop.

Abstract: Polymethylmethacrylate sheet comprising light-reflecting particles arranged parallel to the surfaces of the sheet, said particles having a thickness d and an index of refraction n, at a wavelength of infrared light from 800 to 1500 nm, such that d = (0.2 to 0.4) (1/n) microns, said sheet being adaptable for use as a glazing material for buildings or vehicles.

Abstract: A hand-operated liquid spray apparatus operates on the air-lift pump principle wherein the air-forcing member and the spray-forming member are one and the same. Such an apparatus requires no nozzles or valves and no permanent pressurization of the sprayed liquid. A plurality of deflectable vanes are movably disposed in an open-ended chamber which communicates with the interior of a liquid container via separate air and liquid passages. The vanes, when at rest, seal both passages from the open chamber end. Operator-initiated motion of the vanes toward the air passage forces air trapped in the chamber through the air passage and into the container, thereby forcing liquid up through the liquid passage to wet the vanes in the chamber. A lip at the open end of the chamber is arranged to deflect the wetted vanes as they move past the lip. After passing the lip the deflected vanes spring back to their undeflected positions and, in so doing, throw off a spray pattern of liquid droplets.

Abstract: The present invention relates to electrical insulating compositions based on olefin polymers and a specific azomethine containing a naphthalene nucleus and serving to increase the long-term dielectric strength. The insulating compositions of the invention are particularly suitable for cables, especially high-tension cables.

Abstract: An improved oral irrigation technique is characterized by an oscillatory swept water jet issued to sweep back and forth at high frequencies across the user's gums and teeth. High frequency operation is achieved by oscillating the jet itself rather than the jet-issuing body. The high frequency sweeping jet effects faster cleaning action and more effective gum massage than prior art pulsed jet irrigators having lower effective operating frequencies.

Abstract: A floating platform has a polygonal, submerged floating body constructed from concentric pipe sections whereby the space between each two concentric pipes is compartmentized and serves as storage facility as well as ballast tanks. Columns also constructed as upright concentric pipes extend from the submerged float and carry platform defining and establishing frame which carries e.g. a drilling derrick. The interior spaces of all inner pipes serve as transport path, a closed one being provided in the main float and elevator(s) as well as pump-up paths for liquid loads are provided in the columns.

Abstract: A gas spring for maintaining motor vehicle trunk lids or hatchbacks open, comprises a gas spring piston having a circumferential groove for retaining therewithin a snap ring, and a cooperative annular recessed groove in the internal wall of the cylinder housing located at a position of maximum movement of the piston rod from the cylinder so that in such position the piston is locked in place.
