    Abstract: A surgical treatment apparatus comprises an elongate support, an elongate tube, and a movable endoscope having a stiff distal portion, in which the stiff distal portion of the endoscope is configured to move one or more components of the apparatus when the support remains substantially fixed. The support may comprise a plurality of spaced apart aspiration openings near the distal end in order to facilitate alignment with the treatment site. In many embodiments, an image guided treatment apparatus is configured for use with an imaging device. In many embodiments, a target resection profile is provided. The target resection profile and one or more tissue structures are displayed on an image, and the target resection profile displayed on the image is adjusted with user input.

The annular implant further includes a flexible ring core, contiguous coiled spacers, and anchoring blocks. The flexible ring core is adjusted via a cinching mechanism. The anchoring blocks are spaced along the ring core by the contiguous coiled spacers, which keeps the distance between each pair of anchoring blocks equidistant as the ring core diameter is manipulated by the device user. The annular implant can also include gunbarrel elements housed in the trocar. Each gunbarrel element contains a gunbarrel pusher which drives an attachment element into the annular implant and annular tissue.

    Abstract: An energy absorption device for a steering column for a vehicle includes a resilient device, preferably in the form of a coil spring, having turns that are wound in a clamping manner around a component such as a cylindrical rod connectable to the steering column. The coil spring and cylindrical rod are slidable relatively to each other to absorb energy in the event of a vehicle crash. An adjusting device is arranged to vary the clamping force of the turns of the coil spring on the rod by winding or unwinding the coils of the spring. The clamping force may be adjusted in accordance with data such as stature of the driver, vehicle speed and vehicle attitude.
