Abstract: Colored images consisting of metal-complexed azomethine dyes are prepared by chromogenic development of silver halide photographic recording materials in the presence of color couplers. The color developers contain a grouping capable of metal chelate formation adjacent to the primary amino group. The azomethine dyes are transferred into the corresponding azomethine dye/metal complexes. The complex formation is accompanied by shift of color hue and increase of light stability.

Abstract: Nickel complexes of diazabicyclooctane derivatives of one of the following formulae I and II are useful metallizing agents for the formation of metal complexed image dyes in image receiving elements for the dye diffusion transfer process ##STR1## In these formulae R.sup.1 represents an n-functional aliphatic hydrocarbon radical optionally containing carbocyclic or heterocyclic groups, carbonyl groups, sulphonyl groups and/or heteroatoms (O, S, N) as intermediate members;R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 represent hydrogen or alkyl;A.sup..crclbar. represents an anion; andn represents a number of from 1 to 5.

Abstract: 2-Mercaptoalkylsulphides and 2-mercaptoalkylethers are obtained by the hydrazinolysis of 3-thiaalkylisothiuronium salts and 3-oxaalkylisothiuronium salts.

Abstract: At least one gelatin-containing layer of a photographic silver halide material is hardened with a reaction product of two compounds corresponding to the formulaeR(SO.sub.2 --CH.dbd.CH.sub.2).sub.n (A)in which R is an n-functional aliphatic, aromatic, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group and n is an integer of from 3 to 6 and ##STR1## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and represent hydrogen or a lower alkyl group, R.sub.3 is an alkyl group, an aminoalkyl group a substituated or unsubstituated aromatic group, a substituated or unsubstituated 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may be attached to the N-atom of (B) either directly or through a carbon-containing group, or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together represent the atoms required to complete a heterocyclic ring system.

Abstract: Gelatin-containing layers of photographic materials are hardened by adding a compound containing from 2 to 6 sulfonyl ethyl sulfate groups in the form of its salts and activating the compound by adjusting a pH-value in the range from 6.5 to 11.

Abstract: Copolymers obtained by polymerizing an allyl ammonium salt, a monomer containing at least one anionic group and acrylamide and/or methacrylamide are useful as peptizing agents for silver halide emulsions.

Abstract: A suitable mordanting polymer for the image receiving layer in a color photographic material for the dye diffusion transfer process is a water-soluble cationic polymer containing glycidyl groups. Such polymers can be made by quaternizing a basic polyurethane, polyurea or polyurea polyurethane of the formula ##STR1## with a quaternizing agent capable of introducing glycidyl groups. The recurring unit contains a quaternizable tertiary amino group, and the recurring unit B is derived from a bis-chloroformate or a diisocyanate.

Abstract: 1-Sulphonyl-4-amino-pyridinium salts are used as quick acting hardeners for protein-containing layers, in particular gelatine layers, for photographic purposes.

Abstract: As quick-acting hardeners for layers which contain protein, in particular gelatin layers for photographic purposes carbamoyl oxypyridinium salts are used.

Abstract: A process for hardening protein-containing, preferably gelatin-containing, photographic layers wherein as hardeners unsubstituted or substituted esters of 2-substituted, 1,2-dihydroquinoline-N-carboxylic acids and/or unsubstituted or substituted esters of 1-substituted 1,2-dihydroisoquinoline-N-carboxylic acids are used.
