  • Patent number: 8227525
Abstract: A process for purifying a composition comprising: i) an encapsulated pigment comprising a pigment and an encapsulant material comprising a cross-linked dispersant; ii) a liquid medium; and iii) free dispersant; said process comprising removal of at least some free dispersant from the composition using a membrane having a molecular weight cut-off of 3 to 30 times the weight average molecular weight of the dispersant prior to cross-linking, with the proviso that all of conditions a), b) and c) are met: a) the pigment is not silicon dioxide; b) the cross-linked dispersant is not cross-linked polyethyleneimine; and c) the cross-linked dispersant is not a dispersant which has been cross-linked with bis-ethene,1,1?-[methylene bis(sulfonyl)].

  • Publication number: 20120141714
Abstract: A method for the improvement of the barrier properties of ethylene homo- or copolymer compositions against permeation of hydrocarbons comprised in liquid fuels or mineral oils is disclosed. The ethylene homo- or copolymer comprises at least one sterically hindered amine compound in an amount of from 100 to 10 000 ppm, calculated on total weight of the polymer. At least one surface of a hollow body made of said ethylene homo- or copolymer is subjected to fluorination.

  • Publication number: 20120065293
Abstract: A process for preparing an encapsulated carbon black pigment comprising cross-linking a dispersant with a cross-linking agent in the presence of a carbon black pigment and a liquid medium, thereby encapsulating the carbon black pigment within the cross-linked dispersant, wherein: d) the dispersant has one or more cross-linkable groups selected from amine, hydroxy and carboxylic acid groups or salts thereof; e) the cross-linking agent is polyglycerol polyglycidyl ether; f) the carbon black pigment has an average primary particle size of from 16 to 22 nm and a surface area of from 140 to 220 m2/g.

  • Patent number: 7780279
Abstract: Non-aqueous, radiation-curable inks comprising pigment, dispersant and a liquid carrier, wherein the pigment has an acid value greater than 8 mg of NaOH per gram of pigment. The inks are particularly suitable for use in ink jet printers.

  • Patent number: 6267117
Abstract: The invention concerns both a method and device for cutting hair. The device includes a multi-faceted cutting means (10) and a handle (20). The cutting means (10) is preferably formed from a broken piece of glass, preferably having a ragged broken edge to form a multi-faceted cutter with a plurality of cutting edges (13) distributed across it. Having cutting edges (13) distributed in this way, has been found to advantageously provide hair styling effects which give good texture to a hair cut and provide natural build.
