  • Publication number: 20240143319
Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for determining a version of an application for a user to access based at least in part an overall posture of the user and the device launching the application. An application can support multiple delivery mechanisms to allow a user different ways to access the service provided by the application. A posture level (e.g., level of risk, level of compliance) associated with the overall posture of a device and user accessing an application is determined. The posture level can be used to select which version of the application should be launched by the device in order to provide the best experience for the user while ensuring that security is considered.

  • Patent number: 7826820
Abstract: A network reconfigurator (26) is provided for use in a telecommunications network (20) comprising a network (24) of radio base stations configured for providing radio access service to the telecommunications network for wireless stations (30). The network reconfigurator is arranged or configured, for differing service outages attributable to differing downed radio base stations (28) of the network of radio base stations, to coordinately and dynamically change modifiable characteristics of plural remaining base stations for at least partially compensating for the service outages. Preferably the reconfigurator (26) is configured, for differing service outages, to dynamically change differing modifiable characteristics of differing plural remaining base stations for at least partially compensating for the service outages.

  • Publication number: 20060216687
Abstract: The invention provides a process for the preparation of a dried particulate blood product the particles whereof comprise anuclear blood cells in a protective agent, said process comprising: obtaining a blood sample from a mammalian subject; adding an anticoagulant to said sample; concentrating the cells of said sample; recovering a concentrate containing anuclear blood cells from said sample; impregnating with said concentrate a particulate comprising a macromolecular protective material; drying the impregnated particulate at a temperature in the range of ?20 to +120° C.; and, optionally, packaging the dried particular in sealed containers.

  • Patent number: 6138968
Abstract: An arrangement for releaseably attaching a unit to an attachment surface includes a first pair of cooperative engagement members and a second pair of cooperative engagement members. In each pair of cooperative engagement members, one member is fastened to the attachment surface, and the other member is attached to the unit. In each pair of engagement members, one engagement member is formed by a wedge member, and at least one engagement member in one of the pairs is movably attached in relation to its cooperative engagement member. On assembly and disassembly, respectively, the moveable engagement member can be displaced from the cooperative engagement member. In the engagement position, the movable engagement member is fastened against its cooperative engagement member by a tightening device, as a support surface of the unit is in close contact with a support surface on the attachment surface.

  • Patent number: 6084862
Abstract: Time dispersion of a signal that has been received from a channel is measured by utilizing metrics to determine the energy inside an equalizer window and outside of the equalizer window. In one embodiment, the estimate of the energy outside the window is a difference between residual interference estimates. In another embodiment, the estimate of the energy outside the window is a difference between residual impulse response power estimates.

  • Patent number: 5996779
Abstract: A dental implant package for supplying a dental implant and healing screw without impacting the sterility thereof is disclosed. The package comprises an elongated tubular housing with an open first end and a closed second end for receiving the dental implant and a cap for closing the tubular housing. The cap has a retainer therein for holding a healing screw and is constructed and arranged so that the cap in the fully open position presents the healing screw and dental implant side-by-side.

  • Patent number: 5884178
Abstract: A method and apparatus takes into account the Doppler shift of the information in a received burst, a frequency offset value is calculated for each received burst. For each burst, a signal quality value is calculated, which is compared with a predetermined signal quality threshold level. The absolute value of each of the frequency offset values whose signal quality value meets or exceeds the predetermined signal quality threshold is obtained. The frequency offset values whose signal quality values do not meet the threshold level are disregarded. The total mean of all of the absolute frequency offset values is then calculated. The total mean value is used to accurately estimate the speed of the mobile station. Consequently, the speed of faster and slower mobile stations can be readily distinguished, and a hierarchical cell structure can be effectively used to increase capacity and reduce handovers in a cellular communications system.

  • Patent number: 4789039
Abstract: In the present publication, an air-cushion element (1 to 5) for air-cushion transport equipment is described. The element comprises a disc-shaped frame (1), a ring-shaped rubber bellows (2) arranged air-tight underneath and frame (1), a membrane (4) with a high number of small perforations (5), attached to the bottom edge of the rubber bellows (2) so that the frame (1), the rubber bellows (2), and the membrane (4) define a space (6) for outflowing air, and at least one opening (3) for the feeding-in of pressurized air into the space (6). According to the invention, in this connection, the perforations (5) in the membrane (5) are arranged irregularly in relation to orthogonal or polar coordinates, for example, along a so-called spiral of Archimedes.
