  • Publication number: 20130032436
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic braking device for a yaw drive of a wind turbine and to a control device therefor. A hydraulic braking device for a yaw drive in a nacelle of a wind turbine, comprising a brake disk ring rotationally fixed to the nacelle, a plurality of disk brakes distributed over the circumference of the brake disk ring being associated with the brake disk ring, is known. According to the invention, at least one disk brake is provided with a friction lining arrangement that differs from the other disk brakes, the friction coefficient of said friction lining arrangement being reduced compared to the other disk brakes. The invention can be used for wind turbines.

  • Patent number: 7045107
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an improved reaction process that allows for the achievement of excellent NF3 production yields, while minimizing the amount of unreacted fluorine exiting with the process gases and minimizing the amount of liquid melt waste (HF/NH3) produced by the process. The basic NF3 process resides in reacting F2 with an ammonium ion source, e.g., ammonium acid fluoride, under conditions for forming NF3. The improvement in the process comprises: introducing F2 and said ammonium ion source cocurrently and downflow through a packed column or monolith column at a first temperature; reacting said F2 and ammonium ion source in said column; and, removing a mixture of NF3 and byproducts from said column at a second temperature higher than said first temperature.

  • Patent number: 6005143
Abstract: This invention relates to an improvement in a process for hydrogenating a nitroaromatic composition namely dinitrotoluene by contacting the dinitrotoluene with hydrogen in a reactor employing a monolith catalyst system. Broadly the improvement resides in the continuous, essentially solventless, adiabatic hydrogenation of dinitrotoluene to toluenediamine in a plug flow reactor system incorporating the monolith catalyst. The process generally comprises the steps:introducing a feedstock comprised of dinitrotoluene and reaction product components continuously into the reactor and said feedstock having less that 30% by weight of a solvent, carrying out the hydrogenation of dinitrotoluene to toluenediamine under adiabatic conditions; and, continuously removing hydrogenated reaction product from the reactor.

  • Patent number: 5852127
Abstract: A method of modifying the exposed surface of porous and non-porous organic polymer materials provides a multiplicity bifunctional organic molecules that have opposite functional ends. One end of each is bonded to the polymer material to form a self-assembled monolayer on the polymer material with opposite ends of the multiplicity of bifunctional organic molecules forming a new exposed surface for the polymer material. The method includes modifying the new exposed surface by chemically interacting with the opposite ends of the multiplicity of bifunctional organic molecules.

  • Patent number: 5297471
Abstract: A construction and fabrication process for a two piece vacuum brake power booster housing is described which eliminates the surface tensions which are caused by forming during assembly to prevent damage to a protective surface finish. Localized radially weakened zones are each formed by two opposing tongues created by circumferential and axial slots which tongues in the assembled condition of the housing engage behind an outwardly and reversely formed rim (3) of the other housing half (1).

  • Patent number: 5095805
Abstract: A vacuum brake power booster, in particular for motor vehicles, which includes a poppet valve (12) sealing two valve seats (18, 19) and which is axially deformable within the area of a rolling fold (15) also includes an annular part which is either mounted on the outside of the rolling fold (15) in a form-fit manner or arranged inside the elastic material (24) of the poppet valve (12). This annular part prevents the rolling fold (15) from being blown up outwardly due to the pressure differential prevailing between its two sides so that it will be possible to reduce the return force and thus also the response force.

  • Patent number: 5052719
Abstract: In order to simply and economically fix to an internal-thread coupling (12) a pipeline (17) furnished with two slidable external-thread connections (15, 18), the invention contemplates fabricating the two external-thread connections (15, 18) together in the shape of one part only. At a predetermined screw-in torque, one external-thread connection (15) is torn off and as a result one pipeline end (16) is safely retained in the internal-thread coupling (12). The second external-thread connection (18) may be slid to the second end (21) of the pipeline and can fix the latter to a further internal-thread connection. The fixing means and methods contemplated by the invention are automation compatible and, upon fixing, protect the pipeline from being detached from the coupling through faulty handling.

  • Patent number: 5036751
Abstract: A process for the precise adjustment of the lost travel of a piston in a master cylinder. Master cylinders typically include a number of components in spatial series arrangement, with all components having individual tolerances. The individual tolerances regarding the lost travel of the piston or pistons, can combine additively in the master cylinder. The resulting lost travel, hence, is relatively large and varies with individual master cylinders. The process provides that the lost travel of the piston or pistons in the master cylinder can be precisely adjusted and, hence, can be kept very low. The position of the piston or pistons is measured in the condition in which they just seal the associated equilibrium ports. Subsequently, the position of the pistons is calculated in consideration of the desired lost travels and, by adjustment of the force planes acting on the desired point, the resting position of the piston and pistons, respectively, is fixed to the desired distance.

  • Patent number: 5031971
Abstract: As an improvement on conventional brake systems of the type having a multiple-chamber vacuum brake force booster, a modification is disclosed to the effect that, in the brake releasing position, there is a pressure medium communication between a booster chamber and a simulator chamber. A modulator chamber requires only one external connection, thereby substantially simplifying the construction of the brake force booster and readily permitting an extension of the system's use to include traction slip control.

  • Patent number: 5005465
Abstract: In order to enable a brake booster to operate both with a pressure above atmospheric and with atmospheric pressure without any negative mutual influences of the two energy types and without any change in the responding behavior of the device in case of failure of either energy type, the invention provides a pneumatic system which, during the operation of the brake booster with pressure above atmospheric, causes a force constituent to become active so as to counteract the forces caused by the increased pressure difference and acting on the control valve piston as well as on the control valve housing.
