Abstract: According to the present invention there are provided fungicidal compositions comprising as active ingredient in an amount of 0.01-80% by weight a new benzoic acid derivative of the general Formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 stand for hydrogen, C.sub.1-8 alkyl, C.sub.2-8 alkenyl or benzyl;R.sub.3 represents hydrogen, C.sub.1-8 alkyl or C.sub.2-8 alkenyl;R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different; and R.sub.3 may be identical with or different from R.sub.1 and/or R.sub.2.According to the present invention there is provided a process for the preparation of the compounds of the general Formula I which comprises esterifying 4-chloro-3,5-dinitro-benzoic acid with a saturated or unsaturated aliphatic alcohol at a temperature between 20.degree.
