  • Patent number: 6789856
Abstract: A lockout device couplable between a pneumatically-operable vehicle parking brake and a plunger-actuated control valve. The plunger is movable between a brake-disengaging position in which pressurized air flows through the control valve to the parking brake, and a brake-engaging position in which such air flow is prevented. The device has a shaft which is rotatable with respect to the plunger. The shaft has recessed and non-recessed portions. The plunger has a second recess. A key is removably couplable to the shaft and is rotatable between an engaged position in which the shaft's non-recessed portion protrudes into the second recess while the plunger is in the brake-engaging position, preventing movement of the plunger into the brake-disengaging position; and, a disengaged position in which the recessed portion of the shaft intersects the second recess, permitting movement of the plunger between the brake-disengaging and engaging positions.

  • Patent number: 5551321
Abstract: A socket for attachment to a drive wrench for unfastening nuts from bolts has a bore leading from a socket head into a chamber which receives and holds a plurality of nuts that are unfastened by the socket. An aperture in the side wall of the socket permits removal of the nuts from the chamber. A removable sleeve fits over the socket to cover the aperture.

  • Patent number: 5407211
Abstract: A sports net having a rectangular frame with a lower, ground-engaging portion. A net is stretched over and fixed to the frame. The forward end of a base support is pivotally connected to a lower rearward portion of the ground-engaging frame portion, with the base support projecting horizontally away from the ground-engaging frame portion, without impeding ground engagement thereof. One end of a longitudinally adjustable tilt support is pivotally connected to an upper portion of the frame. The opposite end of the tilt support is pivotally connected to the rearward end of the base support. The base support and the tilt support are sized for longitudinal adjustment of the tilt support in any one of a range of positions to place the base support at an angle of between about 0.degree. and 90.degree. relative to the frame. In the 0.degree. position the sports net structure is collapsed for compact storage.

  • Patent number: 5251935
Abstract: A combination binder/book rest having front and rear covers (10, 12) pivotally connected along opposed edges of a spine (14). A support element (52) is pivotally connected to the front cover to support the front cover at a selected angle of inclination. A page retention mechanism (86, 88; 98, 100; 106, 108) rotatably connected to the spine bears against pages of a book (110) supported by the inclined front cover. An adjusting mechanism (56, 74, 76) is provided for adjusting the cover's angle of inclination. When not functioning as a book rest, the device may be configured in a storage position in which it functions as a conventional three-ring loose-leaf binder. The binder's contents (27) may be easily removed for reference while the device is functioning as a book rest. The book rest aspect of the device provides improved support by utilizing one of the binder's covers to support the open book. The page retention mechanism may be adjusted to accommodate books of many sizes.

  • Patent number: 5163751
Abstract: A trouble light positioner having first and second hooks, a swivel for swivelably mounting the first hook atop a trouble light, a mechanism for retaining the swivel in a selected position, and a mechanism for slidably attaching the second hook to the trouble light's power cord.

  • Patent number: 4380976
Abstract: An emergency shutdown device for an internal combustion engine, especially a fuel-injected diesel engine. In addition to shutting off the flow of fuel to the engine, the device "suspends" fuel within the engine fuel supply system to prevent it from passing into the engine combustion chambers. The device provides a controllable vacuum means which, by preventing fuel passage into the fuel injector pumps, quickly "starves" the engine of its fuel supply.
