Abstract: A method and an arrangement which locates people within a region which is to be monitored and can be used in a mobile manner. At least one transmitter working in an ultra-wide band (UWB) is used, in addition to at least one transmitter/receiver device working in the ultra-wide band (UWB) and a receiver working in the ultra-wide band (UWB). The transmitter is arranged in a fixed manner when used in region which is to be monitored, the transmitter/receiver device is disposed on a person who is to be located and the receiver is arranged on a monitoring computer arranged outside the region which is to be monitored and is connected thereto.
